Welcome everyone to Falliday Fest 2020!! So happy you have joined us!!
My challenge has a few steps to it, but I think you will like the outcome!
1. Find that wonderful Christmas stamp that would look good with a blend of your choice of ink.
2. Stamp your image using Versamark onto black cardstock. Must be black for this challenge! KEEP YOUR STAMP IN YOUR STAMP POSITIONER, as you will need to stamp it again and heat emboss!
3. If your Versamark is not bold enough, stamp again so you can view the image. It does get a little darker as it dries!
4. Now stamp the image again on masking paper to make a mask to go around the outer edge of the image. You want to protect the rest of the card stock from the ink blending.
5. Using your favorite type of ink, begin to blend the ink around the image, add the colors of your choice in the areas you want highlighted. Note: you are not heat embossing the image till after you blend the color all around the image and the ink dries.
6. LET THE INK DRY!! When dry, dust with your anti-static tool.
7. When the ink is dry, stamp again with Versamark, and heat emboss with your choice of color of metallic embossing powder.
Note: use your favorite ink blending tool, maybe daubers, brushes, or handheld blending brushes to apply your inks.

ooh holy awesome samples Ann ( it will be a while before I have time to play but, this just hit the top of the list when I get my gift card holders done)
Something I would have never done on my own, but I enjoyed the process. It did take work to get highlight on my ornament....perhaps it was a poor choice of subject, but once started, I forged ahead. Thanks, Ann.
My first piece was a complete failure! I thought my stamps were open enough but when I got to the heat embossing, none of my Color showed through! I'll try again after I figure out a better stamp.
4 hours start to finish - trying to find a holiday LINE stamp was a BiG challenge and the stamp I finally used probably a bit too detailed but I am happy enough with the end result.
Ann, thanks for the challenge! For my card I went with a vintage style image of St. Nick, adding some texture with an embossed background. Added a zigzag style frame and a die cut holly leaf with red berries. Here's FF20annsforte3 Jolly St. Nick

I've never done this ink technique before and couldn't find any color of red ink that showed red on a black background. I'll have to settle for this. Fun technique.

I have had a little time to work on cards today. So finally got to do your technique, Ann! I should have tried something with a little larger open spaces. But didn't have time to do another one.
Here is my card for the challenge- I used Karin markers, Zig waterbrushes and Distress markers to color the holly, berries and pinecones and trees. Hope you can see it. I aslo added a very light snowy groundcover using white acrylic paint.
Here’s my card Ann. Great technique but I couldn’t get it to work for me today. I think this may end up in my bin or pile to go over and try again lol. Time isn’t on my side at present and I think I rushed this technique. My excuse lol. Any tips are appreciated as I’m not sure how I can get the colours to show.
Thanks for the challenge. Happy day.
Ann, I’ve gone over the colours and it looks much better. I’ll repost a new photo when I can get a better photo.
