We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
LM has been our faithful hostess from many years and has stepped down due to other ministry opportunities and asked me if I would like to hostess this challenge. She is looking forward to joining us as a participant in 2019 and we are so excited to be able to continue the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge!!
I know that I love using Scripture on my cards and the bonus is memorizing the Scripture each month.
I must admit that while I may have memorized the verse for that month, I still have to review it often to keep it memorized. Possibly you do as well and I would love to see the use of more Scripture on cards since God's Word never returns void.
With that said, if you are able to memorize the Scripture that you use, that is the bonus. If not, we would still love for you to share with us. The memorization challenge is a personal commitment between you and the Lord and I know for myself, stamping with Scripture helps me memorize :-)
In the past, this has been a monthly challenge but I would like to change that the submissions can be anytime. If you are unable to create one for each month but do several at once- please share them with us. Whatever you decide to do, as long as it has a Scripture verse on the card or project, please feel free to share.
I know that not everyone has a large collection of Scripture stamps. You can also print Bible Verses/Scripture from your computer (if you do not have a Scripture stamp). There are many resources out there- Bible Gateway (https://www.biblegateway.com/) is a great one to search Scripture and Word Art Wednesday offers a free digital verse every two weeks on their challenge site (Word Art Wednesday). You can copy and save their verses from their site or download from Bible Gateway (which you could re-format on your computer). So, the 2019 Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge guidelines are simple:
1. Please create a card and/or project with a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery and use the keywordBVC19in the keyword area so we can see your artwork when we search the gallery.
3. If you can, please copy the URL of your gallery upload and post to this thread so we can all check out your creation!
That's it!! As I mentioned above, while the goal may be to post one project per month, you may post more than one and, if you are unable to post in a specific month, post the next month. We do not want anyone to feel pressured but would love to see you use more Scripture on your cards and projects.
Thank you Julie! I will try to be more faithful to this challenge! I really appreciated that LM Stamps led this challenge for years, and am thankful you have taken it up for 2019.
I have not participated faithfully - but do make a lot of faith cards, so I'm thankful that you are taking over hosting of this challenge Julie - I need to remember to photo my faith cards and post them! and thank you to LM for all your work on this challenge forum!

I make lots of scripture cards but rarely post them in the gallery because I either have already memorized the scripture from years ago and felt I couldn't post it...or I now am in a place where I struggle to memorize thus didn't fulfill that obligation for posting.
I hope this week to make some more cards, last week with a stomach bug that took me down (and my husband, daughter, her husband, his siblings and started with our granddaughter) I am hoping to spend some time making cards!
A friend has started making me a digi image from scripture that I want to use but don't have a stamp for...sorta like wordartwednesday but I get to choose what I want and she does the font changes for me and gets it all set so that I just need to push print on the computer! She takes good care of me.

I am so sorry to hear that you felt you could not post if you had already memorized a verse or was not able to memorize a verse. This was never my intention. I wanted you gals to post with Scriptures and try to memorize them as you looked at your projects over the month. It was never my intention that you had to memorize it newly before you posted. I am so sorry this was unclear. I only wanted to encourage women to memorize Scripture because I feel the Word of God is so important for us to grow in Him. Thank you, Julie, for clarifying this with your updated guidelines for this challenge.
Blessings,
LM :-)

I came in late to this thread (you did fabulous for years, I go wow...) and it seemed to me that the importance was to memorize...I don't want you to feel badly about what I can't do...I recognize scripture when I hear it and am glad that the parts that are in my mind seem to be there deeply...I just can't get all the words together as some can.
Over the months I was have increased the number of cards with scripture on them as a result of being encouraged by this thread, I just didn't post them in the gallery.
I raised my kids with a "rules are not to be broken" "stay within the lines, the lines are your friends" so I did think that I had to abide by the "rules", I never asked questions though while raising the kids I did allow them an appeal process yet I never thought to ask for that...please know that I was happily making cards with scripture as a result of this little section on SCS!
Now I will feel freer to share what I make! And I do hope that you will be able to find time to make and post pictures again here on SCS also.
I currently am working on making a stash of scripture cards so that I can send a group letter out to some friends and I would like to put that letter inside one of the cards! I'll try to not flood the gallery with my creations ;)

Thank you - EVERYONE! - for the warm welcome! And for the gentle teasing of Faye, too. (I'm actually on SCS a lot but don't snoop around much so often times I don't know what is here. I guess I should work on that).
So happy to see some familiar facers here (including my baking partner!) and some new faces to learn to love.
I plan to make a couple cards today using scripture...that was my plan yesterday also but I decided most of my scripture is for encouragement when someone is strugglin'...not sure what scripture I wanted yesterday but it wasn't any that I looked at...
Maybe this morning with fresh eyes I will decide on something!

Hello everyone... this is my first time participating in this challenge! I think it is a great idea to keep the Word of God alive through our projects. Here's my first project. It is a large bookmark...
This is the card I made yesterday for another challenge...this scripture was one I read often 8-9 years ago when walking a journey that I look back at now and realize how thankful I am that my belief is deep and I have no fear to approach the throne of glory!

Hi Everyone! Helen, your bookmark and card are both stunning!! Jeanette, love your BAJ as well :-)
My hubby has started his chemo regiment for his bladder cancer but since this is the second time he has received IV Chemo, his platelets have bottomed out so his next treatment may be postponed until they recover.
He also has developed a blood clot in both arms at the injection sites of the chemo and he will now have to have the power port re-installed (which we are grateful they can install another one). Anyway, we have been back and forth to many doctor's offices, so I apologize for not visiting your galleries as I had hoped. I am planning on trying to catch up on commenting and seeing all of your gorgeous creations soon!!
I created a card for The Card Concept Challenge using a few stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs (now known as Divinity Designs). This one has 1 John 4:7- I thought it would be perfect for the theme of love (Valentine's Day) as well as for a birdthday card for a friend.
Julie, I'm sorry your DH is having some complications, as if chemo in and of itself is not challenging enough. Please take care of both of you - being the caregiver can be exhausting!
