I had a great time hosting the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013. I have had requests to continue this for 2014, and I am more than happy to do so.
This is an opportunity for you memorize** Scripture each month. And to help you do so, you make any kind of paper project, with the Scripture as the focus, such as: album pages, bookmarks, cards, calendar pages, and anything else that works for you.
I have been making a 6x6 Album for each year, with a month for each page. Then I have can keep going through them to refresh my memory on the Scriptures I have memorized, so as to keep them in my mind. I put each current month in a stand where I can see it often, then add it to my album each month.
There are a lot of great scripture stamps out there, but if you don't have any, don't let that stop you. You can print scriptures from your computer! This challenge is a great tool to help you with memorizing & meditating on God's Word. You can join anytime and I hope you will. The guidelines are simple:
1. Must have a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated on your project.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery with the scripture reference as your project title (i.e. BVC14 - John 1:14)
3. Be sure to then post in this thread what Month you have uploaded and provide a link to your project in this thread. That way we can see what each other has done, and encourage one another with comments in the Gallery. You might even be inspired to use one of the Scriptures you see as a future choice for yourself.
4. Be sure to put BVC14 as a Keyword when you Upload. This is the Bible Verse Challenge keyword: BVC14 (same keyword all year). While I do appreciate all kinds of inspirational messages, poems and quotes, for the purpose of this challenge, please respect the scripture reference guideline. Do not use this keyword if you have not used a Biblical scripture on your project.
5. No vendor restrictions.
6. The goal will be to post one project for each month of 2014. Try to post it no later than the end of each month (but you can still post later than that, too).
I look forward to seeing all the great projects in the BVC14 gallery! Please feel free to PM me if you you have any questions!
I will post a link to the BVC14 Gallery once we have something in there..
I pray this blesses each of you, as it does me, each month.
Blessings,
LM :-)
** The intent of the the challenge is to combine our love of scripture and our love of stamping. The goal is also to work on memorizing. I understand that not all are able to memorize, and I would never tell anyone that they cannot participate if they cannot get their posted verses memorized. :-)
I'm using my MIL's Bible for this, which is King James Version.
Luke 2:10-11
"And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
I am here! Congratulations LMstamps for being QFTD last week! I still want to make a card. I found one in your gallery to CASE. Now that all my company has left, I might get time to play in my craft room.
Thank you, Sharon. I was so delighted to be picked as QFTD. I would love to see what you case. :-) LM

Hoping to actually get my verses on some pages this year and post!! I've got a collection on 3x5 notecards, would be great to get them on something a little prettier.
Welcome back, MEnmystamps! So glad you are joining us for 2014. :-)

Wow! This cards are beautiful! but I am not quite understanding how the Bible Verse Challenge works, do I wait for the moderator to post a verse and then we make a paper project? or does everyone chooses their own verse?
thanks for any help

I've been looking at this challenge last year and did not feel I had time for it, but I would really like to join in this year and memorize some more scripture.

Muscrat...Thanks for posting your first BVC for the year. Who is the manufacturer of the Born This Day stamp set and matching die. I would like to get it for my 2014 Christmas cards. :-) LM
Hi Clemencia...Yes, you choose your own verse each month. The goal is for each of us to grow spiritually by being in the Word consistently, so we each choose Scripture Passages in the areas where we want the Lord to work in our lives as Heb 4:12 states, " For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." We even work on trying to memorize our verses.
Be sure to read Post #1 of this thread, as it gives an outline as to how this challenge works. (such as putting BVC14 as a Keyword). Looking forward to seeing your verses and projects.
Blessings,
LM :-)

Hi! I'm a newbie here. Thanks for this challenge. I've created a card using Psa 118:25 and combined it with other challenges here at Splitcoast. So I followed sketch SC470 and color combination cc460. I hope this post well.
Hi Francis...Welcome to our BVC Challenge...so glad you have joined us and jumped write in with your wonderful card. It would be helpful if you posted a link to your card in this thread.
Wow, the end of the month snuck up quickly on me. I started a larger project but I realized I would not be able to finish it before the end of the month so I switched to this card for January instead. Hopefully I will be able to finish that other project for February.
It's kinda weird I tried loading my layout and it doesn't show up in my gallery but it's out there multiple time. Weird. I've submitted a layout called "Love Is" using bible verse 1 Corin. 13: 4-7.
