The September 2015 Key Word will be "New" or "Beginning" with the optional technique- Watercolor (any type of water medium- traditional watercolors, w/c pencils, gelatos, etc.)
As I have prayed about this month's challenge, these two words kept coming to me- "New and/or Beginning" could start in Genesis 1- for creation or several of the NT verses that apply to the New Life in Christ... there are many verses throughout Scripture that would be great to journal for either these actual words or thoughts - I am so looking forward to seeing which ones you choose to study this month and hope you will share your work in the Bible Art Journal gallery!!
Some things to remember:
We have our own gallery to load our journal pages-
Once you enter the "Upload A Card" click on the arrows next to the windows under "Select Galleries"- in the first window select "Anything BUT a Card", in the second window choose "Books, Handmade Albums and Journals" , in the third window choose "Art Journal Pages" and then a 4th window should appear and choose "Bible Art Journal Pages"
Also, please use all three of these keywords when you post to the gallery- BAJ15, BAJ1509, Bible Art Journaling (remember to separate each with a comma) and if you have time, please come to this forum to link your journal page so we can give you some "love" :-)
I have not had a chance to work on my page yet but am looking forward to growing in our faith and love for the Lord with all of you in this new and fun art form!
Oh, Karen- this is so sweet!! Love the verse you chose to highlight and the image with lettering is perfect for this month's challenge- thanks for the inspiration!!
Debra, Sharon and LM- we would love to see your work but understand if you are unable at this time. We are just so thrilled that you are such an encouragement to all of us and are able to chat with us :-)
Korin- what a beautiful page! Love the portion of Scripture and perfect for our September challenge!!
Joan- Ditto for you, my friend! My thoughts were on that verse as well as Genesis and you have created another masterpiece with your lettering!
I have not started my September page yet but hope to do so soon as well! My hubby, Dave has chemo next Tuesday and I may doodle a bit while there and start to outline my page- not sure yet. Usually I bring my tablet and surf for the 4 hours or so...maybe this way I could possibly witness to others in the treatment room (it is amazing and sad how many people are going through chemo- Dave had to re-schedule since they overbooked Tuesday this week).
Praying all is well with all of you- hugs and God Bless!
I have started my study of Revelation and am in Chapter 1. I have decided to print the pages and make a Notebook so as not to worry about bleeding through in my Bible. I am working on formatting Chapter 1 in a Word Document presently. I have one Scripture Stamp right now that fits the theme. I need to look at my stamps for appropriate picture images. If any of you are SUO and can think of a set (I have a LOT of retired SU stamp sets) that would fit Reveleation 1, I would appreciate any suggestions. Since I usually case my cards, this design part is a challenge for me, although good for me creatively. I probably won't complete it until near the end of the month, because we have houseguests coming next week (which I have to clean house instead of stamping...Ugh!!) and this first month of my Ministry is extra-busy with additional administrative chores that need to be done. I am enjoying looking at what all of you have been working on. :-) LM
Sounds great LM! I will review these verses and look into what Stampin' Up! had in the past (I seem to recall a wedding set with some words that may work) :-) Plus alphabet sets may come in handy as well...
Praying for your new ministry and we all understand what it is like to have company - the challenge will be open "indefinitely" for sure - so no pressure for a deadline :-)
I am going to agree with Korin. I'm delighted to see bible art journaling here at SCS. I'm I did this page last week and was going to upload it but my computer time got cut short because I was on my way to facilitate our church's first bible art journaling fellowship. We had a great turn out and had a wonderful time. My teenaged son joined us and did his first bible art journaling page. One teenage boy with a bunch of "Older" ladies. But he still had a good time. Here is my page for NEW. NEW-NOW butterfly clock by MariLynn - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Marilynn- love your "new creation" page!! So thrilled that you are joining in on our challenge and what a joy to know that your son attended your Bible Art Journaling Fellowship! I am sure that is a memory that you will both cherish forever- hugs to you and God Bless!
