Hi - I was hoping for some advice. I am putting together photo albums of my grandparents for my parents, siblings, aunt and cousins for Christmas. Because I need 8 of the same album I started looking into having the books done on Shutterfly or Snapfish. This way I don't have to have copies made - I can scan them in and design the pages.
This is my dilema - I very concerned about the quality - I still don't use a digital camera because I can't find one (that I can afford!) that has the same quality of a regular camera. So, has anyone used these companies and what did you think of the quality? Thanks for your help!
I have purchased a bunch of stuff from shutterfly and have always been happy with their quality. I think snapfish is less expensive, but I have never purchased, so I don't know anything about them.
I used shutterfly for all my digital photos and have been amazed by the quality. So much better than even my local camera shop does. I also love that I have the option to print a title or something on the back of each picture to jog my memory of when/where/who is in the picture.
Also love that I can upload to albums and share with my family and they can buy their own prints if they want to.
I've used both. . Snapfish is cheaper but quality is cheaper as well. The paper is thinner and glossy is your only option. I LOVE shutterfly and will continue to use them.

Matte is an option as well. The quality is superior to local photo shops IMO. I got my wedding pictures developed through snapfish and love it.

I like Shutterfly. I have also used dotPhoto and Ofoto which is now KodakGallery (all dot com). Kodak did very nice prints as did Shutterfly. dotPhoto was my third choice. I wasn't as happy with snapfish.....

Snapfish has matte it is the only thing I will print my photos in!
I've done photobooks using both services - i think that is what you mean rather than actual prints??? i found the snapfish application for this to be less flexible and a bit more of a headache - as it does not allow you to really select what part of the photo will be displayed - the books are a bit less expensive, but i don't think they come out nearly as nice as the shutterfly ones IMO - HTH!! yuko
I've used both and was happy with both. I liked the packaging that Shutterfly used to mail my stuff in better. It seemed sturdier and more water resistant. I had a package of photos come from Snapfish once that seemed very damp (I think there was a hole in our mailbox at the time and it was raining -- I realize the hole was my problem, but regardless, their packaging didn't protect the pictures much.) My biggest complaint with both of them was the cost of shipping. Because that always seemed to come to as much or more than the prints themselves, I've been uploading to Wal-Mart lately and just picking them up when I go there to shop.
I actually use Winkflash and they are good quality and only .99 shipping!
I used to use Snapfish, but the quality went a little downhill, paper was flimsy, and the shipping was getting too expensive!
I love Snapfish. I have always had great luck and quick service. The price is great and they do Matt finish and they also size for the digital print. Love u.
Good Luck.
I use both. Shutterfly if I want really good quality. Snapfish has good quality but I simply prefer shutterflies pictures. so i use snapfish for my everyday pictures but when I want something to look exceptional I use Shutterfly.
they are pricier in the long run but worth it for those special moments
I went way too in depth when I chose a company to do my pictures. I researched all over online for reviews. Then, I did my own trial. My findings were that York had the very best quality and lower prices. I think it's www.yorkphoto.com A lot of people have never heard of them. But their prints are usually $.10 a piece....sometimes $.08 I was thrilled with the crispness and color. I was not happy with snapfish in the least bit. Shutterfly is good.....just expensive. Kodakgallery is very good quality too. But, York gets the prize....hands down.
Hello all, I use www.clarkcolor.com They are awesome! The prints cost $0.09 each! What a deal! The cheapest I have found yet. Their shipping is crazy fast, usually a day or two. I'll never use anyone else! Good Luck!
I use Shutterfly and really like them. The quality is amazing and they usually send me specials!! I ordered 55 pics for Christmas and was able to do a border, and crop where I wanted and it only cost me around 7 dollars. I really like the ease in putting together there photo gifts. I have played around with the photo books and think they would be great gifts.
I actually use fotki.com. Unlimited storage and 9 cents a print and the quality is amazing. Can't beat that anywhere!
