Default Quick Thank You to SCS and Mary Marsh!

I was on SCS for years but never spent much time browsing this section because 1) The colors seem to be all Stampin Up and 2) I'd look at the color pallet and think, "those are not colors I'd use together."

Fast forward a few years . . . I've returned to SCS and stumbled upon the Tuesday Color Combination posts on Pinterest. WOW. WOW. WOW!
https://www.pinterest.com/splitcoast...lor-challenge/

I've learned that I don't need to use Stampin Up products to make use of the color pallet challenges. (I guess I always knew that but it hadn't really sunk into this thick ol' skull of mine) And I also learned that just because I wouldn't paint my walls with certain color palettes doesn't mean I should discount the color combos on my cards.

I can pull up the page and quickly scan the cards for a color "feel" that I like: Soft and Feminine; Masculine; Bright Primary; etc. When I see a section that pops out at me, I can just look for the color combo pic and find/make similar shades using my own paper & ink.

Sadly, I'm someone born without a drop of artistic talent. I have a good deal of trouble making color choices, especially choices to get a certain feel or mood. I have a feeling that I'll be learning a lot just from browsing these Pinterest pages and using similar colors that I have on hand. Thank you!

I really LOVE your post, Melissa59. I totally can relate. The color challenges always intimidate me. First, I don't have a single Stampin' Up ink pad in my entire collection. Second, some of those combinations have colors that I would never think to put together. Guess that's why it's called a challenge!

It's funny but, I just recently stumbled upon the Color Challenge Pinterest page too. I didn't even realize that there was one! It's a great source of inspiration. While browsing through the pretty pins, I try to keep in mind that the SU colors are there for reference. I'm glad that you'll be using the colors that you already have, Melissa59. I look forward to checking out the gallery to see your beautiful creations.

Melissa,

Thank you for the kind compliment. I hope we will see some of your creations in the Color Challenge galleries. The DT creates a variety of examples to jump start your Mojo just in case you are stumped on how to use the colors.

We use Stampin'-Up color names because they are familiar to most stampers. But you are free to use colors in your stash that are similar. We also have a thread that lists all of the neutral colors that you can use along with the 3 specific ones chosen by the hostesses.

Melissa,
I'm so excited to see your post! We, the team love to share and inspire and are elated to have you back to SCS! I personally can't wait to see 'your' creations of inspiration! The word 'Excited' just doesn't cover how I really feel to have a stamper return to the clan, does 'Exuberate' cover it? Wink, wink!
Thank you for the super nice comment Melissa!
