CC854 Eating Golden Cherries in the Shade (07-27-21)
Hello Color Challenge Fans! It's Tuesday and time for another color challenge. #854 on the charts for us.
Before we discuss this week's colors, let's take a look at Jeanne's favorite from last week. She chose this beauty from Priscilla aka catluvr2 "Sparkle Poinsettia".
Jeanne said: "Priscilla created quite a beauty with this card. The embossed background accentuates the gorgeous poinsettia and the gold stickles add the perfect amount of sparkle!"
Congrats Priscilla! The code to add the favorite badge to your Blog is located at the bottom of the post. Your card will also be added to the color challenge Pinterest board. See that here.
Now onto this week's challenge where we are on our final week of Christmas in July. Are you ready to eat golden cherries in the shade?
Gold
Cherry Cobbler
Shaded Spruce You are always welcome to use the neutral shades from Stampin' Up in addition to the challenge colors. You can find those colors here.
Dessert Option: Christmas in July
Our featured designers this week
Mary aka MaryR917
Jeanne aka Penny627
Joanne aka sleepyinseattle
Marianne aka lantana

Please keep in mind that while we list SU color names for the challenges, these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to play along.

My red isn't exactly Cherry Cobbler, but it's close:

Cherry Cobbler is not in my color repertoire but I found a bit in the scraps bin. Spruce + Cherry are perfect for holly leaves and berries. Mary Beth

CC854 Cheerful Penguin
Mary- great colors, thank you! For this week's color and Christmas in July challenge- I fussy cut this cute penguin, bearing gifts on his sled. Added a watercolor background done with my spritzer and watercolor powders, and included two cherry red corner elements. Used a stamped sentiment with a cherry red background. Here's Cheerful Penguin

I am playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking and catching up on my SCS postings that I've missed posting. My card uses the colors in the challenge, but different shades. I used: Metallic Copper (no gold), Real Red, and Garden Green. Here is my card: A Glitzy Joy to the World !

Here's my card for CC900 as well as 854. I left it for my last card because I had a hard time wanting to think about Christmas in June when it is finally getting hot around my neck of the woods here in Saskatchewan, Canada!
