These colors are so bright and cheery! Thanks for the challenge!
I go back to work tomorrow after being off for over a week. I wanted toget one more card in before bed. I can't decide if I like it or not, but it was fun!
Location: In my Happy Place with no one bothering me....I hope!

Here's mine.... I haven't done a challenge in ages and am ready to get back into it!! I felt alot like Julia in that these are colors that are out of my box, so I really enjoyed this. It was a true challenge! Thanks Jen!
OK... here it is. It all started with planning for my middle school after school stamping intramural. I have a group of 10-12 students rotating around stations to make their trading cards (This is more popular than the standard greeting cards, btw.) I have learned through trial and error, to put one or two main sets with sentiments at each table (3). They usually want to make their own designs, but I make 4 samples at each table. I don't have 2 of any ink pad except black. So, I have to plan this very carefully so the ink pads are not jumping tables (I've done that... sigh!)
OK. So yesterday, I made 3 trading cards with my new fave set, Sweet & Sassy. I made the butterflies in orchid. I made flowers in only orange and the strawberries in rose red. I needed one more for the heart. I'm already using real red at another table. For some reason I wasn't happy with ruby yesterday and I didn't want another all rose red card. I already used orchid. Maybe rose and orchid would go together. It needed more. orange? Nah. What? I haven't used saffron yet. What would that look like? I loved it. Trading cards for table 2 done, one more table to go. I'm still not done with table 3 because I kept looking at that trading card wondering if I could make it into a standard sized card. You now have the final result with a shocking color combo and a ton of comments. I'm stunned.
Jen, there is no way, never ever, not one iota of a chance that I would have ever put rose red & orchid opulence on the same card, no, no! But when I saw your card, I liked it, so I thought, ok, I'll give it a shot. I spent way too long making this card & I should have stamped the center of the flowers to give them more dimension, but other than that, I love how the card turned out. Here's the link to my card. It's already approved.
Jen,
I love this color combo, even though it isn't something I would have put together myself! Thank you for helping us to think outside our comfort zone! I'm looking forward to using Orchid--one of my most underused colors!
Here is my card, it was inspired by Scrappinbitty (she received it in a swap). I had already done all the stamping but I couldn't figure out how to place it together.
Here is my card, but I must admit, I am not liking this color combo...I guess it is the oo that throws me, ha! I did enjoy doing the cc challenge though. I could not find the set I used in the member galleries, so it must have been an appreciation set??
OK Jen, I'll admit it - I amost spit out my quesadilla I'm eating all over my desk, but THEN I looked at your sample and said WOW! This is great! Totally a color combo that I would use (now that it was introduced to me!). I'll say it again - Jen, DO NOT get a color wheel! You do great on your own! Can't wait to play when I get home!
I finally got the Christmas tree down and had time this morning to try out some of my Christmas stamps. My wonderful daughter-in-law chose this fabulous floral set from Technique Tuesday for me.
I thought this week's color challenge was a perfect place to try it out.
This was way too hard for me! I don't how you guys put these colors together and make them look so good!!! I've uploaded what I did, but still pending noon CT.
This was a real challenge for me. I only have Regal Rose paper, so I used that and white. I only have an OO marker and Regal Rose and So Saffron in Spots. Thus the general lack of stamping on this one!
I'm having a terrible time with a new scanner. If there's much white around the stamped image, the colors are showing way too bright. It's very aggravating. :(
Here's mine! I was really skeptical of this combo, but I love it! Fab job Jen! I have NEVER ordered orchid paper in the two years I have been stamping...just a few sheets from a mulitipack!
