Standard Expectations for a DT member : I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 9PM - 10PM EST. You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FIRST DAY FOR THIS TEAM WILL BE SUNDAY, JULY 8th) You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. When the season is ending and a new DT search is going on, I would like you to help with the judging, especially in the final round.
CAS Summer Design Team Schedule
In addition to the four new DT members, there will be a guest designer each week (13 total) If you would like only to be considered as a guest designer, please let us know on the thread and/or in the comment section of your card when uploading.
TIP: This is a contest for CLEAN & SIMPLE . We all push the definition once in awhile and while we LOVE to see people change things up and see the challenge in different ways, it makes it difficult to judge for the design team. This is why in this case we lean towards the conservative CAS designs.
Advice: Please remember that everyone who participates wants very badly to be on the design team. The reason why Jen started the guest designers was so that more could get involved. That said, there will always be disappointments. Please remember it also comes with more opportunities. This happens every 3 months. Four times a year is great for this type of event! To do it more often would be too stressful. These events take a lot of time I always love doing them. And it's easier and happier when everyone is a good sport. We do this for YOU! (In fact, the CAS challenge was the very first challenge to have a design team!) We want as many people as possible to experience being on the team. Some people may have to wait longer than others, but waiting builds perseverance and strength. Please have fun!!!
Photos: Please remember the clearer the photo of your card is, the better it will look. Make it stand out and make us say "WOW!" Photo software programs have editing options. The most important ones for us are the lighting and sharpness features.

Challenge #1: - COLOR CHALLENGE
Those of us on the North East know well what a lobster bake entails! Fun, food and friends! Much like any other summertime party! For the first challenge, we are going to get into the theme and use the colors of the lobster bake! Take a look at the photo collage provided and use those colors to make a card worthy of any summer lobster bake! I recommend using
RED , AQUA or NAVY , YELLOW , and WHITE

Normally, we have more than 20 players and the first cut is to narrow it down to a top 20. Since its summer and lots of people are on vacation and unable to participate due to summer trips, we have had only 16 participants. So....
Everyone who has played will at least get to be a Guest Designer! We will narrow it down to a top 10 now and eventually have 3 (three) Design Team Members and 13 GD's for the season. Thanks to everyone who played!
Here are the top 10 who will try for one of the 3 DT spots!
Challenge #2: TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE
One thing you see in any graphic interpretation of things by the sea is wood....wood grain tables, patterns and even things like driftwood come to the table in decorating! So for this second challenge I want to see the wood grain! You can use a stamp or make your own! Here is a tutorial for making your own...it's easy!

So in our quest to have the best lobster bake ever....listen to some inspiring music! For this challenge, be inspired by the song "BEYOND THE SEA" by Bobby Darrin. This is a song that no one can deny makes you think of seafood, ocean waves and calming breezes. Take any line from the song or just the general feel of it and be inspired!
