I'll give it a try - I will do a combo of cards and thank you's. I've never done a challenge before - but this sounds like fun.
Thanks for joining! You won't be sorry!! It's a fun challenge, but if you can't do it for one month- no biggie...just pick up the next month and you'll still be ahead of the game come November!
Please count me in! This is just the push I need to get more cards done for next Christmas. Plus it's a great excuse to use my Christmas stamps all year long!
Count me in--this challenge is a life saver....so this time only Christmas themed cards. Will have to do my other hoilday cards separately...but that is ok.
I have all but 9 cards made for 2008, so I am one happy camper!

Dh is out of town working and I've ran out of sleeves for the scrapbook, so I can't scrap any (which is what I usually do when he's gone, I can do cards in bed at night, but not scrappin') well, I could, but I don't like to do them unless I can put them into sleeves when they're finished.
Anyway, I've decided that I'm gonna plan all my cards (picked 11 already to do one LO each month) and make my shopping list for them, so I can just pick them up any day of the month, any month of the year, and do them easier. I'll be doing that tonight, as well as addressing the rest of mine for this year.

Sounds like a great plan! I have several cards 'planned' in my head but need to decide on colors, the exact layout, etc.
Ok I am game. I have never started a gallery so this will help me to get started. This is a great idea. Let me make sure I understand something. You will post a new thread each month? Thanks
The week of the 25th of each month, I make my ten cards and I also buy one or two Christmas gifts on my list.
This year, back in January, I bought four of those huge jar candles the ones that are like 12-15 dollars each, I got them for 75 cents a piece. So, I got my mil and step-mil (neither who celebrate christmas but we give a small gift to anyway) and my sons teachers each candle. $3 for all of them.
I love to pick up after Christmas sales in January to stock away for Christmas anyway, but I do try to get one or two gifts each month as well. But I do it the 25th, or around that, to coorelate with Christmas, LOL. Picked that up from organizedchristmas.com
Looking forward to some awesome cards in 09, y'all!!!

I'm a Christmas Notebook member, Kana. Kind of the same system. We developed the Reindeer Club for the 25th of each month. We post what we're working on towards christmas and recap at the end of our day. See my last post for how bad that went awry this past year LOL
2009 look so much dryer! hehe

Sorry Guess it was my 'last post' over at Allies card thread. Flooded basement took me out of the runnning for 2008. No damage to supplies, just no access to them or work space.

Yes, I will create a thread for each month. I already have January, February and March done for those over-achievers out there!
I am in!! This is year three for me. I only need about 50 cards myself. But in '08 I made cards each month and put them together as a Christmas gift for my BUNKO group. Each girl will end up with 24 cards, wrapped in a little box. I am giving them out tonight at BUNKO. I nice little gift that I worked on all year.

What a cool idea! I don't have any 'local' friends but maybe I could use mine as a drawing prize on my art blog. Hmmmm wheels are turning.

Count me in! For two years straight now, I have so missed out on sending my Christmas cards due to last minute crisis that came in my way of stamping!!! Too much to do at the end of the year!! I always have HIGH hopes, but never deliver! LOL
I really like Kana's idea of working on them on the 25th of the month. Or at least if we haven't finished them by then, to check in and encourage everyone to do so. I know from other groups I participate in, that little extra nudge of accountability keeps me on track. ;-)

Mary, I just spent the last hour going through your gallery. Your work is beautiful. I've bookmarked several :-) I also noticed how your work has grown over the past four years. Awesome!

Aw...thank you! I look at some of the artwork here on SCS and think my cards pale next to theirs! Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with original ideas, though, and need others' cards for inspiration! ;)

Me, too! Didn't find this thread until mid-year of 2008 but was able to catch up and get all my cards done, plus some for others who wanted them. I plan to start on 2009 cards as soon as the New Year hits!!!

Me too. I always seem to need a 'jumping off' point.

Please count me in for 2009 . . . I say this as I am still putting my 2008 cards together this week! This will be SO much better for me to do them all year long. Thanks for the challenge!
I joined last year and didn't even get one month finished!!! Shame on me. I've gotten about 20 cards finished and decided to use up the rest of my store-bought cards from my pre-stamping days for the balance of my cards I need to send out.
I've decided to 6 per month. I'll see you in January with the link to my gallery.
EmGee, can you PM me with your address? I may have something I can donate to the 'prize pot'.
PS - Why is it that I can't wait to get started on my January cards, when just a couple hours ago I was so stressed about doing this year's cards?? ;)

I'm in for ten cards per month in 2009. I did the '08 challenge, and was thrilled to have them on hand when I needed them. I even have ten extra cards!
Count me in! I am so used to cramming all 200 cards starting in October, but it would be great to have 15-20 done every month and be on top of it! Thanks for the challenge, and I'l volunteer to donate something too - LMK what would be a good item!
I need to join. I am so busy I don't have time to breathe in Dec. This will help me immensley. What happens if we don't get our 10 cards done in one mo..do we have to drop out?

If you don't get your cards made for a month- it's no big deal...you don't have to drop out...that would be too 'stressful'! If you can't do your cards one month, you can skip that month or catch up later- whichever is best for you. The only thing that will happen is your name won't be put into the pot for the monthly incentive prize for whichever month you don't get your cards done...nothing more. So don't worry about it...and welcome to the group!
