Christmas Card Challenge 2014

Vikki - I want to join for 2014! Had I joined last year, I would have Christmas Cards ready to go instead of just starting them. Don't have a gallery & have never posted any card photos but I'm looking forward to starting. Thanks!

After two years of not making Christmas cards, I'm back in the saddle for 2014. Of course I have plenty of stamps!! Friends have been disappointed that I haven't made cards, so I'm sure they will be thrilled with the 2014 Christmas cards. Thanks to all of your for keeping this going! I love it! I plan to make 15 cards each month.

This year I'm changing my goals. I didn't have enough Christmas Cards this year, so I'm increasing my monthly goal to 5. I'm also going to change the size of my cards to 4 x 8 so that your standard photo card can fit inside, and I'm also going to make more CAS cards that are more mailable. Many of the cards I made last year were too bumpy and I either couldn't mail them at all and had to hand deliver those cards, or I had to pay 65 to 85 cents per card to mail them.

I loved your lumpy bumpy cards Amy, but postage can kill you when you try to mail them.

Yep, the bumps put most of mine into the Extra 20 Cents category and a few of them went over in weight because of the letter. Another 20 cents!

Life issues really knocked me for a loop this year. I'm still playing catch-up on Christmas cards that must be mailed today.

I am joining in for 10 cards per month in 2014 and hope to stay ahead of the curve!!

Hi everyone! I just found this site from another thread. I'd like to join this group 'cause I really need the motivation to start early. I had planned to work on Christmas cards starting this summer so I would have all I needed completed by Dec. 1. I didn't even get started until after Dec. 1. Actually made 20 for my son before I started my own. Go figure! I'm thinking of doing 4 or 5 a month.

Yes, the cards can be all alike or each one different. You can follow the suggested challenge for the month or you can make whatever you want. This is a very free and easy challenge - it's main purpose is to help you get your cards done well ahead of time and inspire you by letting you see others' Christmas cards.

Mine will mostly be alike. Most of the Christmas cards I've sent this and past years have been alike.

I'm signing up for 10 cards/month. Last year, I only made it through April due to 60-70 hour workweeks which I'm determined not to let happen in 2014. Fortunately, since I just try to come up with one layout each month and then mass produce variations I had built up a large stash and had more than enough cards to send out this year. I made more than 10 of most of last year's designs. Which wouldn't have happened if I didn't sign up for this challenge. So, I'm signing up again this year and really determined to come up with 11 different designs for 2014. Thanks so much for hosting Vikki!

I joined last year with 8/month, made 15 in January, 14 in December and none in between!!! This coming just has to be better....I'll say 6 a month, and having reduced my total aim to a more realistic level I might even have enough instead of thinking I need to make for all the 130 names on our list! I was so upset at my failings that I almost stopped making cards altogether and dropped off SCS, then gave up blogging.....maybe I needed a break, because I'm SO looking forward to a fresh start

Hi, I was actually getting organised at the start of the year and getting a list of all the monthly challenges to stick on my wall, I found that August didn't have a challenge so I added one November is the only other month without a challenge, it's going to be fun doing them all. Thanks for organising vikkijo!

Hi! I joined last year with a goal of 4/month. That worked out quite well except for getting them posted. I failed miserably. We'll see what happens in 2014.

So good to see familiar faces here again as well as some new folks. I'm reducing my goal from 8 to only 7 per month this year.

I got behind most months during 2013, but did finish them all by the end of November. Like several of you, life issues got in my way. The past two months I have been struggling with my internet provider as my internet got impossibly slow. I "think" it is fixed now. If not, it's time to change providers.

I still amaze my friends (and make them envious) that I've got cards done before December. I wish they would join SCS so they could be motivated by all you lovely stampers like I am.

Vikki Jo - thank you so much for keeping this thread going for 2014. You are appreciated and are in my prayers for strength and better health in 2014. Thanks also to those who put up monthly challenges. I usually do my own thing, but am going to try to do some of the challenges next year.

Some of you are already in 2014, but it's only 9:12 p.m. 12/31 here in Texas. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Vikki.....thanks again for organizing this challenge. I too fell off from getting cards done in a timely manner. Good thing I had a stash of cards from previous years of doing this challenge to use!

So...with that I'm going to shoot for at least 6 per month. Loved the idea of having others contribute to the challenge with their ideas. Gives me a little push when I'm stuck!
