The only rule about this challenge is that there aren't any real rules as far as what cards you are making, what kinds of supplies you can use. So we accept all types of "holidays", we include Valentines Day, birthdays, Thank you cards, etc. The whole goal is to make our lives a little less stressful. Most of us do tend to make Christmas/Winter Holiday type cards because those seem to be the ones we need the most of.
I can't even begin to count how many times I wished I had done tgis in 2007. I made about 70 of the same card in 3 or 4 sittings and I was sick of coloring Mary & Joseph. Next year, I plan to be much more organized so I actually ENJOY making all of my Christmas cards:-)
I've never done anything like this before but I am signing up. I am thinking that I'll make a list of the holidays and special events throughout the year that I need cards for and try to complete 10 each month not only as Christmas cards but for those other special events that creep up on me!
I'd like to try this challenge! I need some motivation to get my cards done ~ for all holidays! I started working on some Birthday cards today & should finish by 1-1-08. Most of the cards I have are for kids ~ Birthday cards for my dds friends, but none for any of my friends. One other type of card I find I need but never have are Get Well Soon cards...
I would like to join in, too. I was sitting here looking at my Season of Joy set and lamenting that I hardly used it. I had such grand plans for it.....sigh.... Anyways, then I got the idea to join the Christmas card challenge so I could use this set again. This will keep me motivated to get busy stamping.
So, can I start my January Cards now? Are they due at the end of January? February cards are due the end of February, etc?
January's cards are due anytime within the month of January, beginning on January 1, Midnight EST. February starts Feb 1, Midnight EST. Of course many who aren't in it for the prizes just add them whenever they finish, some have already added january's cards. You will still get credit for the month in the final drawing, even if you post early.
So here it is New Year's Eve! I know many of you are ready to post your cards all ready! I will be watching to see who posts first. The easiest way for me is if everyone posts to the same thread. The thread for January is already set up. It is
I can't wait to start! I ended up sending 'picture' cards this year, but I did send some stamped cards to my downline and family members. They would be a little disappointed if I didn't... Plus, I'd never hear the end of it! Now I'm a little ahead for next year, since I didn't send as many out... I should spend one month addressing envelopes!
and this is my plan (if I 'verbalize' it it will happen...right???)
I love this idea and plan to make 10 of the same card each month. Not only will I end up with enough cards to send out, but I'll also have 10 new techniques/layouts etc. that I will have tried. And I will have had 10 opportunities to improve upon the method/technique used to create the card of the month.
Tomorrow is football day around here, so I'll cuddle up on the sofa with my Prismacolors, my gamasol and my plan for my January cards. Wish me luck!
Thank you for your work in putting this challenge together.
And the winner of January's first post challenge is NoGrinchHere!
Thanks! This has been such great motivation. Not only do I have some of next year's Christmas cards completed, but I finally posted a card to my gallery.
I made the cards last year; but didn't post them. I was glad when Christmas came around...I had all the cards I needed. Things were not so rushed. So I will do it again this year...Hey maybe I will even post them. LOL

Please please count me in! I started my Christmas cards in Oct. and was done by November, but ended up having to make 15 more in December because I didn't make enough!!!! So, joining this challenge will definitely help!!! I don't even start thinking about my cards until summer's over!
You know I think that gettingt my cards posted is going to be more of a challenge for me then getting them all done. I have tomorrow off and I Cannot wait to get started making these, I just never get around to taking pictures of what I create.
I'm in - this is my first attempt at joining any type of challenge. I don't know how I'll do - I have two kids getting married in 2008 and they want me to make their invitations. I would appreciate your prayers. Thanks:cool:

For the first time in about 5 or 6 years, I sent out store bought cards. I had my card all planned, but it involves quite a bit of work. I ran out of time, and I decided to allow myself to purchase cards. I'd like to make these cards for next year. I don't need 110 cards, but I do have lots of birthdays, especially in the second half of the year. I am always scrambling for these. So I will probably do a mix each month.
Good luck to everyone!
This isn't just Christmas cards, its holiday cards, or any kind for that matter. I know I am working on some New Year, some Valentine's, and Christmas cards right now, as well as cards for swaps. Its just a way for us to challenge ourselves to get the cards made.
I would like to join. I was so rushed this year cause I was sick in Oct and took a long time to recoup. This would help me out tons! Sounds fun too! I think I would like to join every month, cause I would like to make Christmas tags and Thanksgiving cards too.
I have 2 swaps to finish out then I will start on my first Christmas cards. Beleive it or not I am still in the Christmas mood. Took me a long time to get me in the Christmas Spirit and I am still in it!!

I did my 2nd set of 10 for january. I am ahead of the game for once in my life. I did 10 easter cards (I don't know if they count for Jan or Feb). Sorry I am just so excited, everyone knows me as the "best procrasticator ever". I work really well under pressure but I am just thrilled that I already have 20 cards done for Jan. Yeah,
