I could not figure how to upload a picture from my Kodak file. It took me longer to post this than to make the cards, I swear!
So I ended up printing the photo of the cards and then scanning to upload! I tell you, hubby goes out of town at the most inconvenent times!LOL! I am not computer savy at all. But I should be able to figure it out by next month to post my cards.
I tell you, that was fun! Making Christmas cards in Jan and not "rushinging". I really enjoyed making these cards. Only bought these stamps in Nov 2006 and just used them!! I did not make any Christmas cards in 2006 due to a move and rushed through them this year. But now this was F U N !!!!!
Now off to make some Swap cards!!!

I'm just a little behind in posting my January cards and plus I do have my February cards done as well, it's just between all the hospital visits to my parents (long crazy story) this past month and my camera going kaputt I will be posting my simple cards tomorrow

It was so relaxing last December to not have to worry about getting my cards done. Now that I have had a couple of months off I am ready to once again take up the challenge. This was one of the best and most fun things I did for myself last year. Please put me down. I will start with February. Thanks for all the work you do to make this a successful venture for the rest of us. Val

They are in my gallery Normally I would post a direct link, but I have to have 3 posts or more to do that, so i will post them under the individual months that way.
I wish to join this challenge. I love sending out Christmas cards, but get so tired of making them. This is the way to go. I always make 12 of each style, because during the month of December I send all my designs to my Mom in Texas and I keep one.

Growing through challenges
Okay- so I shot my budget and didn't make any cards in January.. BUT I must say I now have EVERYTHING I need to make all the FAB designs I have been drooling over..
so I guess this month I must make 20 cards (eeeeeeegggggggggkkkk) but first must go to SUNNY CALLY!! Tired of dark and damp & depressing.. PLUS i'll get to scrap my trip when i come back ALONG with making my cards!!

I actually made the cards mid January but am just now getting them uploaded! At least I got them done. I am so glad to be getting such a head start on my Christmas cards. Thanks again for the challenge. I hope I do better in February!
You know, I just got my Valentine's Day cards in the mail to my Christmas card list, as I could not get it together in time to make Christmas cards this year. SO, I think I really would like to give this a go. We'll see how I do

Hello all you great stampers! I am so new to this site and dont really know how to navigate well. What exactly is the Card Challenge and how does it work? I really need discipline to sit down and make more cards all the time. I have such a big family and lots of friends so always need more cards. You all have such talent! Thanks for all you share!

I had this problem in January, and just tried to post for February, but canceled it because I didn't want to post without the link to my pics. I opened to my pictures in another internet box and copied the address at the top, and it let me paste the links into the message box, but when I click on the "post" button, it tells me I can't post links from another site until I have done 3 or more posts........ I've done several posts, and below this it says "you may post attachments" now, so what am I doing wrong?

Betty, I didn't seen a reply to your question, so thought I would pop in and give you a little info. I am not exactly sure WHEN this Challenge started - in other words, I know it happened last year, as I signed up, but not sure if it was a challenge in 2006 or not. ANYWAY - the challenge originally started out to make holiday/Christmas type cards so that we weren't so stressed during the holidays. It has now 'morphed' into any holiday that you would typically make cards for - the idea is that you make 10 cards a month for 11 months (or as many as you need to send out) so that you have your cards ready when you need them. Make sense?

This is my second year hosting and I know that it was going on the year before that. But that is as far back as I know about.
Yes, it was started basically for Christmas/Holiday cards, but so many people didn't join up because they didn't need 100 cards. I didn't want to exclude a whole group of people so we are now "allowing" other holidays. Hopefully though, the majority of cards will be for the Winter holidays, but all holidays are definitely welcome.

Hi Betty, no real rules, just have fun! Just make your 10 cards, post a reply on the thread set up for the month. (Look on the home page on the right hand side there is a place for Christmas cards. when you go into that forum, you will see the threads that have been set up, they all begin with CCC08-then the month) It is up to you whether you want to post your pictures, but we all like to see what everyone else is doing! It gives us inspiration. For each month that you complete before the end of that month, you get a check mark on my little spread sheet. At the end of the year, you will get a chance in the prize basket drawing, for each month that you get the little check mark, your name goes in the drawing.
Of course there is the monthly prize, which goes to the person who posts first for each month.
Every now and again, I seem to miss someone posting that they are done with their month's cards. To help me out, if you don't notice that I have commented on your card, just send me a little note to let me know. My goal is that I comment on everyone's cards. That is the trigger point for me to mark you down as complete for the month. The only time I might not comment is if you have several pictures for the same month or if you take a close up and a group shot, but I will at least comment on one. Normally, I will respond within a couple of days!
As summer gets closer, I may be traveling quite a bit (one can only hope! :cool: ) so I don't want to lose track of everyones work. I appreciate your help!
I am new to the site, and I love the idea of less stress at Christmas. This past year I procrastinated way too long, and I spent two snow days making cards and wrapping gifts. Thanks for motivating me to get an early start.

Oh, I need to do this again this year!! I wasn't successful every month last year, but it still helped me LOTS to be in this challenge! Only thing I'll do different is make the same cards all year this time. So I hope to design it this weekend and then start mass producing! Thanks for organizing again!
Well, I may need those cards more this year than I have in the past since we are moving to another state in a couple of weeks. I will have all my friends back here to send those holiday cards too. Because of our move, I will miss the March deadline, unless I make them now - but I will probably wait until I am all moved into our new home - wherever that will be (we are moving to San Diego). I think I will have more space to stamp too - so, will catch up on the March cards sometime mid-month.

How do you all post your cards? I have mine in Adobe Photo Shop and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them on here to post. I also have them just downloaded in a file from my camera. I am not computer savy in the least, obviously. How do I even set them up to post here from my files? Copy and paste doesn't work. You have to upload the picture to a gallery first. On the left hand side of the home page there is a place to upload to the gallery. That's the first step. Let me know if you need help with that. It is fairly easy, but some people who aren't computer savy have a bit of trouble. Not sure where you are with computer skills.
I am totally in !!! I have to say last may I had a baby and since our lives have been crazy. My husband is a photographer and ever year we go shoot a family shot and have cards made up. Last year we just didn't get that done. So I have to do this challenge. Sounds great. I'll try for feb cards but I'm sure March is when I'll start.
