ORGANIZATION BEING FEATURED:
RAHAB MINISTRIES
Description of Organization:

RAHAB Ministries (Reaching Above Hopelessness And Brokenness) began in 2002 and was born out of a challenge made to the founder by her mentor. Starting with a small group of volunteers walking the streets of Akron to reach prostituted women, RAHAB has grown to include a drop in center, a safe house, outreach ministries that reach women in strip clubs and jails, and a ministry to minor victims of sex trafficking. Just as the prostitute Rahab from the Bible (Joshua 2) was part of the lineage of Jesus, we believe that every prostituted woman deserves the life-changing experience of realizing her worth as a priceless and beautiful Daughter of the King.

TYPE OF CARDS:
general cards, or cards that say "thinking of you" or "praying for you" would be wonderful to use in our strip club outreach, street outreach, jail ministry, or pen pal ministry.
Since this is a faith-based organization - Christian themed cards are more than welcome. Encouragement cards are a great idea and they always send out a lot of Christmas cards to the ladies so those would be wonderful as well. Please include envelopes if you can.
SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS:
NONE - other than keep in mind it will be sent by a church organization.
GUIDELINES:
Please keep in mind, we are representing SCS by sending our cards each month. Recycling is always good, but only use products on your cards that you would like to receive on cards. Also, our card donations are not tax deductible and it is not required. Please do not ask for a receipt. There have been groups that will send thank you's but the "referred by" person keeps us informed and passes on the thank you's. Most of these organizations are volunteers and spend countless hours helping others, lets help make their jobs easier and bless them in helping others.

Do you think they will hand out cards, not only mail them? The reason I'm asking is because some of my cards might cost more to mail since they're not flat. I don't want to cause anyone hardship... but if they hand them out it might not be a problem.

They do pass them out....they have several teams that go into the strip clubs and give gift bags to the ladies - they have small things in them like nail polish or something like that....and information about the house, meals, and even safe house available if they need any assistance leaving that lifestyle. They also have teams that go out and walk the street on Fridays and Saturdays who try to connect with the prostitutes and let them know that there is a way out. All the teams with will pray with the ladies if they want and of course share the love of Jesus with them. There is also Rahab House where the ladies can come in and get clothes, personal products, cookies, meals, Bible studies, etc. It's a great ministry and these cards will mean so much to these women who society tends to overlook.

RAHAB ministries would like to thank everyone who is sending us beautiful cards. We try to show the women that we help, who have been trafficked, that they are beautiful and worthy. These cards are the perfect way for us to make them feel special. Each card embodies such creativity and heartfelt talent. Thank you for all of the time each of you have put into them.

do you ladies realize that two months from today christmas will be over and we will be days away from another new year, 2018? the time truly flies by. we take our vacation in the second half of the year, so the new year seems like it will ages before our vacation again. I have three weeks of vacation left in this year; thanksgiving week and two weeks at christmas. I would luv to hear what you all have planned for the holiday months
