I'm in!!! And it's kids!!!
As I'm still learning what WorkFromHome means for me, I've found spending a bit of time every day at my craft desk is a good way to transition between my 'office' and my 'home' ...
Focusing on a great cause like this will help!!
Looking at the descriptions on their website, they give portable electronics (computers, tablets, iPod Touches, etc) to pediatric cancer patients facing long-term, debilitating treatments. They’re Wi-Fi ready, helping connect with their friends, family and school. These portable devices can provide a diversion & temporary escape from the long hours, days and weeks of separation the kids must endure traveling between appointments, procedures and hospital stays.
Could you double-check whether they want cards specifically saying “Get Well Soon”? The kids they serve aren’t likely to fully beat their cancer any time soon. There are, however, many ways to encourage them to stay strong, continue the fight, etc - or laugh at a funny or dumb joke. Also, are these signed cards to pass on directly to the patients themselves, or our standard blank cards that will be used by the group's staff & volunteers?

I never use Get Well Soon. When anyone is ill or down, especially children, I always go for bright, cheerful, encouragement cards. Also, my impression is that the cards are to be left blank so that the staff/volunteers can fill them out as needed. The hospital in my town likes to place the cards on the patients' meal trays, so I'm guessing that is what this group will do with the cards, hence no envelopes.
They did ask specifically for get well cards and thinking of you cards. Of course fun blank cards as well as any other type I am sure are welcome too They have donors and volunteers and of course the kids have birthdays...so any type is fine. They did also ask no religious themes as well so please keep that in mind too.
Thanks. I'm a lurker returning to card-making despite long bouts of yucky health and suspect I may be a bit over-concerned w learning "the rules." ☺️ After looking up groups serving hospitalized kids last weekend, I'd come away w "no get well cards" drilled into my head. Thanks for all you do - finding great causes to serve & encouraging crafters to get to work!
Will send out cards to Mikey's Way tomorrow! These are my first try at slim line cards and I've had to order the #9 envelopes. The envelopes arrived today so they will be in the mil tomorrow. Sarge
I have approx 130 cards going out tomorrow. Had extra time on my hands this month. LOL Sent flat rate - tracking number 9405503699300393172802.

Generaly speaking, most of the "cancer" organizations do not want get well cards. Not sure why they listed get well as one of the things they wanted.

Hi everyone, this is Cathy Friedman from Mikey's Way Foundation.
It is only by chance that I found this forum. In one of the many card packages received there was a note that led me here - along with some great detective work!!
I cannot express how grateful I am to have received these beautiful cards. The time, detailed work, and care that has gone into them is not lost. Every package that I open brings me much joy, and I know each card will do the same for the children undergoing cancer treatment. Each card is a gift in its self.
Under normal circumstances, we would deliver the electronics to hospitals across the U.S. But since COVID, we have been mailing the devices to the children. Each package gets one of these beautiful cards that I have been writing uplifting notes in. I hope you and all of the crafters who created these cards know how something so small can make such a big impact on these children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you ALL are amazing!
God bless,
Cathy Friedman
