2021 Cards For A Cause APRIL MISSION
Stamp from the Heart!
ORGANIZATION BEING FEATURED: Savior Socks
DESCRIPTION: (From website) - There are many in our community and other communities that have experienced natural disasters that are in need of simple basic supplies...like clean and dry socks. There are two main reasons socks are among the most valuable piece of clothing to people without permanent housing. For one, feet work overtime when there’s no cozy home (and laundry room) to return to each night. The other reason is that socks and underwear aren’t often donated or, when they are, the goods can’t be sanitized and put to use.Savior Socks is on a mission to provide that need! Tammy Newbill began the 501(c)(3) non-profit in November of 2016. She has organized four local fundraising events over the past year collecting donations and distributing over 10,000 pairs of socks to date. Tammy has set a new goal a “Million Sock March”.
Savior Socks is raising "ONE MILLION PAIRS" of socks for the local communities and also the communities that have experienced natural disasters. A pair of socks is a small gift but a large gesture that can help a person in need to have some comfort in their difficult situation.
TYPE OF CARDS REQUESTED: This group could always use Thank You cards for their donors. Also any encouragement cards that could be given with the socks they pass out to individuals. However they did specifically stress that Thank You cards are needed.
SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS: Christian themes are welcome and envelopes are appreciated. No restrictions regarding supplies.
GUIDELINES: Please keep in mind, we are representing SCS by sending our cards each month. Recycling is always good, but only use products on your cards that you would like to receive on cards. Also, our card donations are not tax deductible and it is not required. Please do not ask for a receipt. There have been groups that will send thank you's but the "referred by" person keeps us informed and passes on the thank you's. Most of these organizations are volunteers and spend countless hours helping others, let's help make their jobs easier and bless them in helping others.
MAILING ADDRESS: Mail cards (and socks too if you like) to....
Savior Socks
PO Box 764
Long Beach, WA 98631

When we send our cards, can we also send socks? Like donate a sealed package (no sanitizing necessary) of new socks along with the cards? If if yes - any particular type? Adult? Kids? Peds? Crew? Sports? Knee-high? Solid? Pattern?
I will get some out to them! I have some new paper I've been wanting to cut up and use!! I like your idea TrainGina!! Can we send them some and what would they like!

As soon as I learned about this wonderful cause, I began preparing the embellishments for the cards. Everything came together quicker than I could have ever anticipated, and they were a joy to assemble. Hopefully the joy translates. Think I'll treat myself these next three days by doing something I haven't done in what seems like forever -- absolutely nothing.
Sending my cards tomorrow via USPS flat rate. Tracking # 9405 5036 9930 0352 1311 09

Got a set of 10 sock cards made! I actually have a cute Lawn Fawn set with a sock stamp in it and little faces you can stamp on them. It was fun to make these. I will get cards with envelopes in the mail on Monday and send some $$s too to help them get to their million sock goal. Thanks for organizing this! Glad I could participate. Hello everyone! Happy May Day!!! WOW - May already....I hope ya'll are doing well and April has been a good month for you. We had some unexpected happenings - our 15 year old kitty suddenly went blind 2 weeks ago. It's been an adjustment but she is doing well and gaining more of her confidence back each day. She's a sweet little thing and we will care for our little special needs kitty as long as she is with us.
They May post is up! This is another new group for us so I hope you enjoy learning about this amazing organization. Check out their website too....I'm excited we can partner with them and bring smiles to children with cancer.
