Default Sketch Challenge 814 - {08/12/2020}

Keywords: SC814 - No spaces between letters and numbers, put comma followed by a space between keywords. The keywords are all you need to have your card show up in the challenge gallery, having it in the keyword line covers more searches. Posting to this thread is not mandatory to play!

No due date for posting your card to any weekly challenge.

Ready for some sketchy fun? I have been noticing a resurgence of interest in SLIMLINE cards. In the spirit of what was old is new again, my sketch for this week features a tall and skinny design.

My preference is for 3 1/2 " x 8 1/2" because it cuts nicely from a standard 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock sheet and fits a size 9 envelope. Others may prefer to go with 4" x 9" to fit in a size 10 envelope. Or, you may choose to adapt the sketch to a standard A2 size. Entirely up to you which path you take.

There are quite a number of popular brands offering these "new" slimline layering dies-so if you need to be shopping enabled-get on your mark, get set, GO! Or, if you prefer a die cutting hack- I have used dies from my current stash by doing a partial cut, flipping the die around, lining up the border, adjusting the cutting pads and making a 2nd cut to create a longer panel. Of course, if you are going for straight cuts, no dies needed.

I look forward to seeing your creations in the Gallery.

We have lots of wonderful samples for this week's sketch:

Smile SC814 sprinkled donuts

Thank you for this challenge Dr. Sonja! I took today's sketch and changed the triangle elements to "donuts" and rotated the layout. I dug out these cute curved stamps and added enamel dot "sprinkles". Photo background is my DD's donut and coffee themed pillowcase Here's sprinkled donuts

Default SC814 you are the sweetest

For my second card for today's sketch challenge I kept the triangles but rotated the sketch. Added some texture with a dry embosed background and bling with my sparkly dots. Went a bit dotty with my two washi tape borders Here's you are the sweetest

Thanks for the reminder that slim cards are ok!

Since I only use stamps (hard or digi), stencils and my own designs I don't have to worry about waiting for dies! To each his own!

I turned this sketch into a scrapbook page. Works really well for that as well as a slimline card!
