I, too, got hooked by the 12 free stamp pads! I just placed a $350 order right after the new catty came out. Between me, my neighbor & my SIL, I am not worried about meeting the $300 minimum. I am only going to be a hobby demo, but I am truly hooked on SU products!! I will be sending out my paperwork on Monday. I am alittle nervous & excited!
I too, signed up. Just got my kit on Thursday and been cutting and stamping away. I am just doing it right now as a "hobby" demo, but I have had a couple of friends give interest. So who knows, this is how my upline started and now she is doing great as a demo!
Okay I am getting a little impatient, I sent my paperwork on Monday 8/15 and called Friday, and they still have gotten my paperwork! I know that they are being swamped with all the new demo's signing up..........HUGH! I don't know how much more I can take....Just waiting for my number..........
My app was mailed July 29th and I got my kit Aug 11th! It was like Christmas at my house. I've been organizing, creating and stamping to get ready for my first workshop Sept 2nd. It's so exciting!! SCS is a great website to learn from fellow demos. This will definately become one of my favorite webspots.
I am sending off my application tomorrow. My friend had been inviting me to SU parties for a few years now and I just kept making excuses why I couldn't make it. I thought stamping was just too froo-froo for me. I finally went to one of her own SU gatherings and was hooked. The August special was just too tempting! I couldn't pass it up. I'm sure she appreciates that I'll have my own materials now. Anyhow, I have already joined two swaps and am looking for to creating many more beautiful cards. I'm hooked to the gallery pages. It's remarkable to see such neat ideas that everyone has come up with.
Hi Ladies!!!
I signed up for this promo too!! Got my kit and already had my first party!! Going to place the party order tomorrow. YAY!!! I also have another party scheduled soon. (and I just signed up as a hobby demo!!!)
I have been stamping about two and a half years now. A good friend became a demo because we had a little group that was always buying tons of stuff. Now the friend up and moved away, so I have "taken over" the group. I am since finding out that there are several ppl at work that are interested in SU!, having parties, and just simply ordering things on a regular basis.
A friend of mine is living with us until Sept. 1st. When she moves out I will have myself an office!!!! And a stamping room!!! Got big plans for that room, let me tell ya.
After reading this thread, I think that it would be fun to keep up with how everyone is doing. What marvelous creations we have done. And for support!
I turned in my paperwork last night. I have been stampin' for about a year, but I couldn't pass up the free set of ink pads later!! I will be a hobby demo as well! But my upline is great and I can't wait to learn tons more of techniques!!
I signed up on Saturday. I've been stamping for years and several different times I "almost" signed up. The new stamps did it for me me. It's such a deal. And, as I looked at the new catalog I realized that most of my stamps are retired. Guess, I'll have to buy more!!!!! I really like my upline. Just met her and immediately signed up.
I saw someone post about Stampin Start. What is that????
My distributor did not let me in on the August Special, and I have told her that I am interested in becomeing a demo. Can someone let me know what the special is?
Thanks!
PS: I am a new poster, but have been a lurker for a while ;)
Edited to add--I am in the Portland OR area!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!I finally got my demo number so I am official. I swear that was the longest week of my life waiting. Now I have to play the waiting game with my kit, but since I am at work I cant access Stamping Up, I have to wait until tonight when I get home. I am so excited, can't wait until my first party next month! I would also like to be added to the list, I think I will need some support since I am excited and a little nervous.
I just sat down with my "upline" (too funny, she's Dawn to me!) and we finished the paperwork-she's mailing it priority tomorrow!
I think I'm going to have an open house around the 23rd of September and will be putting in a big 30% order (I have so much stuff I want like watercolor crayons, hodgepodge, headline alpha/numbers set!)

Hi Everyone....
It seems like every day I keep getting several new requests from gals who want to join our Sizzling Starters New Demo support group. I am going to hold off posting the document with the SCS/Real Names of all the folks who want to participate until after the August 31st cutoff date so that everyone who wants to join can get on the list and I won't have to update it for you all umpteen times. So, look for a post on this thread from me around September 1st or 2nd if you requested to have your name added to our list. So far I have over 30 names on this list. I'm sure we will all be a great resource for each other. New signers...please email me so I can be sure to add you too!!!
Thanks for your patience as I continue to work on this list!

Yeah, My kit arrived and I've gone through most of it. I was a little over-whelmed by the Demo Manual (330 pages on a disc!). But I'm sure I'll make it through eventually! I'm going to my upline tomorrow for a little one-on-one training because I have my first Stampers 10 Club this Friday and I will need to put my first order in this weekend. I'm so excited. I would definitely like to be added to the list of new demo's that's being compiled.
Me too! Me too! I'm going to my demo's house tomorrow to fill out the paperwork. I'm starting off as a hobby demo (no choice, since I'm a consultant for 2 other ds companies that I work as a business), but I'm still hoping to get a few orders here and there from friends. Can't wait 'til I get my goodies!
Hello! I joined StampinUp as a demonstrator this month also because of the promotion. I attended a workshop in Feburary of this year and have been hooked ever since!
I just joined as a hobby demo, too!! I am excited!! I just hope I can meet the minimums to keep my demo status. Our group is in a monthly club and already has someone to do the parties. That is most of my stampin pals. Hopefully I can make my 300 every quarter somehow. I joined now to get the ink pad special. I ended up getting all the new colors!!
I joined for the kit, but hope to keep up the minimums for a quarters.
Today I received the email welcoming me and giving me my demo #.
Then I called for a temporary password and I'm cruising the demo side of the Stampin Up website right now!
Now to find out where those big, brown, heavy, fun-filled boxes are!
Yippppeee! My kit arrived Tuesday evening, and DS told me it would not be here till Wed! What a great surprise! I've had tons of fun putting things together and working on ideas. I'm planning an open house for Sept. 8, and I'm getting a bit nervous about it, but am trying to be laidback and low-key! I started with the intent of being a hobby demo, but now I am excited to try to make it work as more of a business.
Please add me to the list as well. Thanks for starting it!
I signed on a 9 months earlier than planned because of the special and because my upline is fantastic. I've had 1 workshop and 1 fundraiser show and already am pushing $1,000 in sales! ( of course I have contributed to those numbers- who can resist?) Whoo Hoo! I have a customer interested in being a demo so I will be entising her with the stamp pad special too....
I just signed up Tuesday night. I can't wait to get my kit in. I have several people from work who are anxious to have a workshop so that they can start stampin'. I am going to call tomorrow to see if I am in the system. My upline overnighted my application on Wednesday.
I did it, too. I went to my first SU party January 2003. I have wanted to sign up for some time now. The special promotion tipped me over the top. I will being using it as a hobby.
I retired in 2001 for medical reasons. I am in constant daily pain. Stamping helps me become distracted from my pain and I actually find it lowers my pain level. My doctors have encouraged me to continue stamping. It lifts my self esteem and gives me purpose. I make cards for family and friends and believe me that in it's self keeps me busy.
I take many stamp classes. Most of the time, no matter how I am feeling, I can always get to the classes, after all, the classes are usually just a couple of hours. Then I can come home and rest.
My family and friends have kept all my cards and now days, when they get a new card from me, they comment on how much I have improved. That always feels so good.
I have received my starter kit. Now, I am SO excited to make my first order. I pour thru the catalog over and over. Oh, where, oh, where am I going to put everything. I have already taken over my dining area and some of my living room. I have a small bedroom that I am thinking of cleaning out and setting up my own special stamping studio.
When I signed up, I was given this website. Since then, I haven't been able to stop viewing all the beautiful cards and projects others have made. There is so much inspiration in the photos. I am so impressed with everyone's skills and creativity. I can only dream to become as good as the rest of you.
You can add me to your list of newbies.
I am from the Portland, Oregon area. My upline is Barbara Brimhall, she is amazing. She has never pushed me before to sign up. However, this time with the special promotion, she called me. She also felt that it would be helpful from a socializing aspect and she might be right. It is important for me to get out of the house.
I am concerned about making my $300 quarter goal. However, I shall just wait and see what happens in the future.
Good luck to everyone and continue to add your beautiful pieces to the website for all to view.
My first post on SCS after lurking for awhile! I signed up for the free ink pads, after going to my first workshop. Yikes! While signing I thought I might be a hobby demo but I am looking forward to having workshops and see if the business angle will work for me.

Just signed up, too!
I just signed up to be a demo! I am sooo excited! I signed up as a hobby demo, but I love doing stamp camps---so, we'll see how things go. I would love to be included with the Summer 2005 Demo Group! Learning together with this bunch sounds like a great idea!

Me too! Me too!
My sister came over on Saturday to help me with my decision. She's now my up-line. I don't think I'll pursue the business since I like supporting her. I signed on to support her. She only needed one more to sign up under her this month to get some sort of bonus. Anyway, we sent in the application priority mail. I hope the USPS doesn't let us down.
I am new too. I am anxiously awaiting my # and receipt of my kit. I am somewhat new to the stamping world as well only getting into it within the last year BUT I am addicted. I really welcome suggestions and ideas from all the experienced stampers. I will probably be more of a hobby demo and I am worried about meeting my quarterly sales because I do not have a big network of stampers - that is something I will have to build. That is one of the reasons I joined as I am looking to meet new people and especially those who share my interest in stamping/scrapbooking.
Hi, I signed up and am so excited. I have been stamping for several years and already had lots of SU stuff -- I had to get some different stamp sets on the kit so that I had some new stuff. I loved getting the extra stamp set, because now I have 3 of the groups!! I have been watching this website for a long time and have submitted some cards, but now I can do even better -- I hope!!!! This site gives you so many GREAT ideas!!!
I made my first order and got a friend that really helped me out. I got lots of stuff free and got a good start on paper and other SU stuff that I needed.
This'll be fun to talk about it to everyone. Thanks.
Evil Stamper -- just the name, not the person!!! My name is Evalee, and since I was little, somehow people always gave me the nickname of Evil -- go figure!
I just signed up yesterday!!! I am so excited. I have always loved being creative. I have been involved through club SU the past year. I loved it. It got me out of the house one day a month and it was just great!! I had founf out towards the end of the summer that our SU demonstrator decided that she was not going to do it anymore. So I Decided to fill her shoes instead. So the fun begins!!
My upline was going to send mine in with some others that she had on Monday...I hope they get my paperwork in time I can't wait to get all the goodies!! I only have one SU set, but I have been stamping on and off since High School. I didn't even know SU existed!! Where have you all been??!! LOL!
I sent my paperwork last Wednesday and it was processed yesterday (the following Tuesday) so I am now official and have my demo number! She said my kit probably won't come till next week, but I'm just so happy my paperwork got there in time for me to get the free ink pads that I can be patient for the kit to get here.
