I got that email too but then I went to their forum and no one has posted a thing about it yet. There has been plenty of speculation over the past months though....so probably no surprise....
Yes, it seems they have totally disabled the ability to post. Wow...I am in mourning. Wonder where everyone will go?
That is the worst thing about forums closing suddenly,you lose your stamping/scrapping buddies...if you only ever contacted them thru the message boards. You lose links and galleries...I'm sure this will be a huge wake up call to some. In my 15 years of internet communities,it has happened a few times. Very sad. I never posted at Two peas but always went there to keep up with the industry and have seen people come and go.
I got the email too and thought it was strange that they hadn't discussed it on the forum or on their blog. Wonder what happened? I didn't frequent the forum often but it was useful for information and inspiration every so often.
I completely understand that 2Ps didn't owe its community anything, but it would have been nice to have a day or two after an official announcement so we could chat about this and get some idea of where folks were going.
Rumors popped up once in a while, but nothing official until it was all closed down.
I'd love to know where people on NSBR will end up. I loved that board.

I'm not sure I will move to chat at a new place. I go here and to a few other places, and one of the things I like about 2 peas was that you could look at crafty stuff or chat, so just a message board alone does not really appeal to me.
I never shopped at 2 peas because we have stores in my area and I am a SU demo as well.
One thing I will miss is Batya's reading thread, but I believe I have seen one here as well. (okay, I will also miss the political bickering as well :p)

If you want to participate in political bickering (in a nice way), there is always the Current Events forum here.
Although it's quiet now, it gets energized now and again.
Looks like they are mailing out the last on the 11th of July. The store is already thinned out tremendously. I don't think there is going to be anything left by the end of day on the 10th. Sad. I hope they keep the blog up. I hate it when we lose a blog to go back and reference. :(

According to their FAQ, all purchased class and workshop data will be gone as of 7/10. The gallery will close as of that date too. Looks like they are closing down lock, stock & barrel.
Thank goodness for Splitcoast, or I would feel totally lost. I knew about 2Peas and joined it before I learned about SCS and it feels a little bit like losing family. It must have been an incredibly difficult decision after being open for 15 years. There's a great article about it here: Papercrafting News: Two Peas In A Bucket Closing After 15 Yrs. So . . . I think the message here is that we have to support our paper crafting industry if we want it to survive and even thrive. I'm proud to be a fan member of SCS and pray it has continued success is an industry that shows more and more signs of struggling.
I was able to finally get in tonight but it did not save my cart from yesterday and all that was lost and now sold out :( So just dont expect it to hold carts. Seemed lile a LOT of stuff is sold out...which is good for them I suppose.
I be a bit wary buying from a company in that situation, Wavejumper. It doesn't seem like it would be easy to be in contact with them if something went wrong with the order.

Thank you Metalcharm...I definitely hear you on that very good point...I did not get anything big...some DP and twine. No big risk. It will let me check out paper from companies I dont know.
Thanks for the heads up gale. I need to really check out the galleries over there one more time before they shut down on the 10th...I liked it for scrapbooking ideas but I think many of those folks had flickr accounts too. Who am I kidding though? I barely have time to keep up with my blog feeds and here! ;)
Well, It's just sad that we won't be able to reference the gallery or the forum. It's just sad.
I got an email today from Scrapbook.com and evidently they have made it easy to transfer your entire pea gallery in 2 clicks,lol. I have no idea how true this is but hopefully it is and peas will do it. Paperclipping round table podcast has also made a forum and gallery.
as far as shopping from the store, I would not do it even at 70% off. I have had trouble with my orders that took a lot of arm twisting to get fixed. No way I'd do it now when they have nothing to lose.
Well I just realized my order confirmation says it will be weeks before they ship it. That's disappointing. I hope I dont have a problem.
