Here is a link to the list, seems to be quite a large number of stamps. I don't purchase many SU stamps so I am not really one to note if this list is large, or even if there are shockers on the list ; ) http://204.228.150.61/docs/lastchanc...0412_en-US.pdf

I want to express my disgust at SU for selling the hostess sets, and for selling them for the same price in the catalog, when they had announced that they would be a better deal. I also think selling the Sale-A-Bration sets really devalues the promotion. Actually selling the hostess sets for the same price really devalues the hostesses also, and SU doesn't always have the greatest customer/hostess specials anyway, and now they have most likely pissed off all the hostesses that look at the retiring list, since they thought they were getting an exclusive set at a great price, and now they got just another random set. So disappointing.

Please look again at the flyer SU provided. It clearly states that hostess sets are "only available to those who host a qualifying workshop." Hostess sets are not being sold to others.
SAB sets are sometimes found in the yearly catalog, but they're FREE for SAB. If customers already own the set, there are many more great sets, paper, and other accessories available to them. I don't believe it devalues the promotion at all!
So no need to be disgusted or disappointed in SU! (I have actually loved nearly every special SU has offered. I believe they're doing a wonderful job of finding what a great majority of potential customers would like!)
Hi ladies,
I don't know if this is the right place for this question, but here goes anyway.
Does anyone know where I can get SU retirement lists for prior years. I have not kept a copy of the retirement list and now find that I should have. Thanks for you help
I think those who have been aware of SU (or any other stamp company) for awhile can easily forget that the company also gets new-to-them customers. So, while we may be tired of seeing (insert set name here), it is likely still selling well for the company. Also, even long-term customers have changing needs and tastes. When I first started stamping I didn't need stamps for children or weddings but have a decent collection now.
Some of the retiring sets that surprised me include Sincere Salutations but I am hopeful there will be a new set that is at least as versatile and will allow my cards to have a "makeover."
I made my initial list of retiring sets I want and will review it a couple of times before the retiring accessories list is released so that I can be ready to order as soon as I decide which accessories I need/want. I'm hoping it's not too many since I included lots of accessories in my last order (but I always want more!)
Oval All is the only one that I was even thinking of getting ---and do not think I would use it enough to get it. Would rather wait and see what comes out that is new. However ---I do have a few other ones on my list!
I also do not understand why they did not do the list in black ink and larger! Was awful to read ---I had to copy and paste in larger type just to read it! Maybe next time!
I find it odd that some stamps that were just introduced this year are now being retired. I hope the new SU catty has fewer stick figure stamps and more landscape and scenery stamps.
I have a question. Can retired stamp sets still be ordered after the new catalog is out? And, if not, what does the company do with the ones they have left?

As I was told, the retiring stamp list will be available for purchase until 5/31...don't know what they do with the remaining sets.

Pattyjane - Brenda is right, the stamp sets are available through 5/31 and after that you will not be able to order them any more. Stampin' Up! actually makes their own stamps and so they more or less make them on demand so that is why they say they will have them available to purchase until the last minute (unlike retiring accessories which are while supplies last). If they happen to have extras of a given stamp set, what I've seen done with them in the past is they are donated when people make requests of products for charity giveaways or sometimes given as prizes for internal contests.
And someone asked about the accessory list, it comes out at midnight on the 25th and I am expecting it to be longer as well. I know that the Decor Elements (vinyl) and Simply Adorned (jewelry) will be retiring but am very curious to see what else is going.
I know that Lovely as a Tree is one of the best selling stamps so it will be around for a while but I was shocked and will miss Sincere Salutations. It was one of my go-to stamp sets since all of the sentiments fit punches so well and were all the same size so I could interchange sentiments easy. Here is hoping a similar type of set is in the new catty!
Does anyone know if the retiring accessories list is out yet and do they just sell until it is all gone?
The list comes out tomorrow and everything on the retiring accessories list is while supplies last. So each year some items sell out well before the end of the catalog.
The list posts at midnight MST to if you are watching for it, it will be up on demos blogs shortly after (like I'll be posting it as soon as I can access it) and it will show up on the SU website by early morning.
Let's hope when the accessories listing comes out, it will be easier to read, the retiring stamp listing was just horrid to decipher. What were they thinking?

Thank you! There are a couple of accessories that I really don't want to miss out on!
I'm confused. Is Loads of Love retiring? It's on the list but it has FRA next to it. Is just the French set retiring and the English set is not? I didn't see the English set in the online retiring section in the store.
