I just found out from my mailman (go figure) that a new craft store was going into an empty store, of course, i immediately went online to search for new construction in that plaza. Sure enough it's going to be a Hobby Lobby!!!!!!!! I just emailed HL and asked when it's going to be open, and the answer is: November 3rd!! I'm so excited, and i'm sure my mailman will be too, because i "maybe" won't be getting as much through the mail!! LOL
Oh yes, the location! It's in a town called Depew ( i know, don't laugh) it's right outside of Buffalo, and about 5 minutes from my house, yipee! I'm marking my calendar. Not to be greedy or ungrateful, but now i'm lookin to get an Archiver's!!!!! LOL

Actually i had seen that, and was trying to get a friend to go out there with me over the summer. i guess now, i can save the gas money, and buy more STUFF!!!!
my friend and I have known about the new hobby lobby coming to buffalo for months now and have been stalking the site almost daily to see an opening date....it got so bad one day, I called her to see if she wanted to go on a road trip to rochester...an hour and a half away...so we spent the day ..oh and we had to stop at the christmas tree shops too....one is opening here finally too!!! oh help me now!!!!
Can't wait!! but right before christmas???
I live 2 miles from the new Webster one. It is so exciting to see some new things! I went to the Grand Opening and they gave the first 100 people little bags full of goodies. It took me three hours to get through the store the first time.
I can't wait to tell my mailman all the good news today!!!! LOL Although, my DH may want to stop giving him that Christmas gift each year! LOL
I just lOVE my mailman!! Maybe i'll give him an extra something this Christmas, Hmmm.. maybe something crafty made from all my stuff I'm going to buy at HOBBY LOBBY!!!!!
Sorry, don't mean to rub it in!! I'm just way over stimulated right now!!

Sue, whereabouts in Depew is it going? I grew up in Cheektowaga and live in Hamburg now. So that's not too horribly far from me.
It's in the old Hills (then changed to Ames) store plaza on George Urban and Dick road. There's the new Wegman's there, and a Burger King on the corner. Also, across from St. Barnabas church. Does any of this ring a bell??

Yep, I know EXACTLY where that is! Thanks so much!
Looks like I'll be taking a trip over there in November.
If you live close to the store that is supposed to open on Nov. 3, you might keep an eye on it. Sometimes they will open the new stores a few days early!
One will also be opening in Liverpool NY sometime next year.
You can get a little more info on the upcoming stores here: http://www.hobbylobby.com/stores/stores.cfm?page=5

WOW!!!! awesome link. I can't believe they are opening that many new stores! You ladies better check this out!!!
I work in Henrietta and there is an AC Moore, Joannes and Michaels just down the street. I wish Hobby Lobby was on Jefferson Rd. as well. I'm very lazy when goodie shopping.
Congrats, I LOVE Hobby Lobby. The one nearest to me has the most helpful employees I have ever met. Makes the Michael's store across the street somewhere I only shop at in case of emergency, or great coupons!

I will be visiting from UK & will be staying in the centre of NY near. are there any craft stores around that area??
What town will you be staying in? If you'll be near Rochester, There's Joanne's, A.C. Moore and Michael's all within a stone's throw of each other in Henrietta, just south of Rochester. And of course the new Hobby Lobby in Webster, on the east side of Rochester.
Oh. I didn't realise you'd be staying in New York City. I thought when you said somewhere in cetner of NY I thought you meant center of New York State. Can't help you with the city. That's 8 hours away. Sorry. But have a great time while you're visiting.
COOL! I'll have to add that to my Buffalo shopping stops.
DH and I shop over in Buffalo/Blasdell area every month or so. I'm sure he'll be thrilled that I've found another place to stop LOL!
jennifer i'm sure your trips include buffalo stamps. what a great store
while there myself and fellow stampers ate at "my tomato pie". it was so great we went both nights for dinner! if you haven't tried that-plan on going there on your next trip.

Oooh I've been wondering if Buffalo Stamps was worth the ride since I'm about 40 minutes away. Sounds like I should plan on making a trip!!
You will love it--but it will sure be a temptation! We have one about 15 min. from my house and I'm in heaven when I go there! They usually have a coupon online each week along with their flyer on their website.

OF COURSE I've been to Buffalo stamps LOL! The only bad part for me is that there isn't really any stores near it that DH can go to while I shop so I usually only get 20 minutes tops while he waits in the car
It's a nice store with such a great selection of stuff. I do find them a bit pricey on some items (mostly scrappy related).

Oh, you at least need an hour in there!! And they are always moving things, so your always finding things that you hadn't noticed before!! What kinds of stores does your DH like??? There's a Home Depot and Harbour Freight Tools around the corner! You definetely need more than 20 minutes!!!!

Enjoy!
I can't wait, I've heard they have alot of different things that M's and Joann's do not have! And of course, love the coupons, although, i read on their website that they only take their own coupons :(
