Just wanted to help you all out ;)! Yesterday at my Michaels I found new (to me) Studio G $1 wood stamps in great cardmaking phrases and some neat word art. But what got me most excited was Making Memories button packs in pink, blue and green - 30 buttons for a dollar in all kinds of cute shapes and sizes. The package says "paperie buttons" and each pack has various shades of the color in it. There were also lots of other embellishments from Making Memories but the buttons were by far the best deal.
Okay, I was just in Michaels yesterday and didn't see any new cardmaking phrases. I can never seem to find the perfect sentiments, so I'm curious what these look like and where you found them. Were they in the $1 tower baskets? Could you post a picture of the ones you got? I might be able to wrangle another visit to Michaels on the way to a viewing tomorrow night ...
I was in Michael's yesterday and in one of the racks found little containers with a big button on top and full of buttons in the same color hues inside.. then I went over where they keep the $1.00 ribbon and stamps.. and in that bin found the MM bags of buttons.. the racks are near the office and I asked the manager if they too were included in the $1.00.. he said he didn't think so and scanned it for me.. sure enough they too were $1.00. They had some new $1.00 stamps.. but I had a handful of buttons, so I was happy to go home with them.

I snatched up a few bags of those buttons when I was at my local M's the other day too- I loved all the sizes and shapes of the buttons- and you can't go wrong for only $1.00!!
I was into Michaels yesterday, and it was really strange. I had been in there on Tuesday, and there were no bags of buttons to be found. I know because I check in those tower baskets every time I'm in there.
Well, last night I checked and there were two measly packs of buttons in there. Did someone buy the other 100 the very first day or did they only put a few out at first?? I'll be checking the next time I get in there, because I have a really hard time believing they went that fast.
As for the "new" stamps, could you tell me some of the phrases? I looked all over and saw only the same stamps I've seen before. If I know some of the phrases, I'll know if they're new to me or if they're the same stamps that have been there for a month.
I looked for the buttons too, but couldn't find them. Are they by the other Making Memories stuff, or by the $1 bin? If someone could post a picture, that would be much appreciated.
I went to Michaels today to buy some tacky tape & ended up going astray! They had the new studio g clear stamps. They're really pretty with words like wish, faith, family, friend & matching decorative accents. They are with the other dollar stamps at my local store. I also found the Making Memories buttons. My michaels had some of them at the top of the dollar stamp wire rack. There were also some butterfly charms & large metal clips. They also had a wire display righ next to it with several Making Memories close out items. There are paper packs, velvet brads & even a foam alphabet all for 99 cents. The thing that was brand new to my michaels today was the glitter and flock. It's from Studio G in the dollar section. Each set has four little jars of color with either flocking or glitter. I have soooo much glitter so I didn't look at it, but i haven't had flock in years. They seemed to have four color sets like pinks, browns, black & white, greens & oranges/yellows. Really great prices on a fun item. So you all micgh want to check them out. JIL
Just keep searching and who knows what you'll find
I got some of the $1 buttons in a "button" container, only color they had was black though, and I bought all four that they had. I went there for ribbon...I have way to much of a ribbon fettish....some of my favorites were only 79 cents...I did not see any of the MM buttons...will have to go back and look since I need more ribbon, and have to exchange some that i got. Did you know that sheer hunter green and sheer black look pretty much the same when they are all on the ribbon spool?
Here was my great find--MM alphabet rub ons. They were just laying in a wire rack near the "Big Ideas" sticker pack that was 50% off (had to get one of those and was surprised at how many cool stickers I got for $4.99). Well, I had the cashier price check the rub ons--99 cents!! I bought both that I had seen.
Well, I'm not sure what others have found, so I'll tell you what I've seen in my store (that I think they're referring to):
"Bravo"
"You're my very best friend"
"With sympathy"
"Happy birthday to you" ... etc.
These are marked as "Katie & Co for Studio G". They are done in a very cute handwriting font, sometimes with little drawings to accompany them. I'm cutting those little drawings off as I unmount them, though, because I got them just for the sentiments.
If anyone found other ones, please feel free to jump in and tell us.
I found all the Making Memories embellishments for $1.69 and clips. They also had alot of the new wooden stamps as well. The sentiments I got were "Family" and "Laugh". They are made by Hampton Art. I also managed to find a pregnancy dress one & a onesie. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up some for the kids with an elephant, lion, bear tracks and "It's a Zoo" sentiment. They also have the clear Studio G stamps in various animals. They also had 3 different cupcake designs that are really cute. I think there is one more cupcake I have to locate at a different location. I didn't find those buttons which I wanted really bad. Maybe they don't have them yet in Calgary????
I was in Michaels today (in Grand Rapids, MI) and didn't see the buttons, but I did see the glitter and flock; they had it in a couple of different places near the checkouts.
I did buy one cute cupcake stamp and another one with flowers.
I did look like they were rearranging some stuff, so maybe some stores are just putting the stuff out.

I found the Making Memories buttons now. They didn't have alot left. But I picked up 2 packages of each color in pink, blue and green. No glitter or flock yet.
