I just wanted to thank you Lakemom for turning us on to Jail's gallery. A whole lot of folks got a good laugh today, many probably needed it! Sorry about your first bad experience. If you post opinions, chances are eventually you will get snapped back at by someone. But we are all sisters here, so we hug and make up and move on. I hope you will get into some swaps or try some challenges! They are great fun, you will meet lots of great ladies and it really may take your mind off your pain. Welcome again, all of these ladies are so nice and helpful.
I happened to stumble upon lakemom's original comment last night before anyone else had commented-and looked at the cards in question-first, I was a little, shall we say, confuzzled?? Then, I looked through all of them and saw some that I really REALLY liked...(being 21-I need cards like that for MANY MANY people)
But, people have the right to have their own opinions...and whether they like the cards or not, is their choice, and we should respect them-as they should respect the artists choice.
p.s. jailbird..if you read this..can you make a card for a someone getting married to a jerk of a guy?? (i'll look to see if you've already made one!)

Don't you dare go anywhere! Our differences are the spice of life and some are spicier than others. You sound like an eloquent person and I was glad to find this thread.
It took me a long time to compose my response in your original post, and I tried really hard not to hurt your feelings. That was not my intent. If my post stung, I apologize to you. (I hope it didn't!!)
Best wishes on your back stuff going on--you and I are in the same boat! Start the injections in 2 weeks...eww.

Okay, I get in to so much trouble all by myself - you naughty girls should *not* be encouraging me. But here is the duct tape card and I may slip it to my boss during the next staff meeting.

This is too funny - saw the snowman suicide and can't wait to get back to see some more. I am not only NOT offended, I am working on my own warped sense of humor and think I might be able to join this group!!! I have the naughtiest sense of humor verbally, lets see if I can transfer it to paper!! Everybody just wants to have fun. Happy Mammarial Day, I say.
I have never come upon the post of jailbirdstamper but I am now going to go out my to see them. They are great! Way to think outside the "normal" box!!!
IMHO These cards have beautiful workmanship, and tackle many topics that we encounter in daily life outside of Happy Birthday, Thanks and Baby/Wedding. Kudos to you for your talent!

I love jailbird's cards. I wish that I could make some like her's. I have to wait until the kids go to bed and make sure that I put them up where they can't see them (they are still to young to explain somethings to). Thanks as well for the idea of using duct tape, we have enough of it around the house I don't think DH will miss one role. As for lakemom thank you for expressing your opinion and never be afraid to express your opinion, if it offends someone then they are just expressing there opinion, that is what I love about this world, we are all allowed to have our opinion and should never be afraid to say what is on our minds.

Did you know that a side effect to steroids in rage? My friends husband is have gout problems and was put on steroids and that was one the Doc warned them about. And no kidding took a very nice easy going guy to a raging madman. Anyway maybe that will help you (and others) understand the weird feeling.

Off and on for several years the docs pumped me with steroids for a chronic health condition. I was a lunatic during those time periods. The docs, bless their souls, kept telling me that steroids don't affect your moods. I won't repeat the words I used with them after a few bouts of steroid use. So don't feel bad. Anyone who has ever had to use the stupid things gets crazy and does and says things they might not ever say otherwise!

I think I am finally coming down off these things. OMG- I have gained almost 10 pounds in 3 weeks. Can hardly wait to see pictures of myself in Hilton Head in 2 weeks!!! I am still having having these horrible hot flashes that just consume me. It's not bad enough that I had a complete Hyst. and can not take hormones and now this?
I do think they injections have helped somewhat though- but, anything short of a 12 hour spinal fusion will not cure the structural problems I have. But, for now...I will take the temporary relief. Thank you for your concern and feel free to write back.

i know some people get their knickers in a knot over this kind of thing, but we are all individuals who have different appreciations and opinions about what true art is. truthfully, anyone can spit in a tuna fish can these days and call it art, and to me thats awesome!!! i don't want to live in a world void of the over the top artistic expression! it makes my world go 'round!
and for the record, those dirty shanks are friggin' hilarious!! keep it up!

To Lakemom - welcome! :-) Sorry I am a bit late in replying to this thread, I just stumbled on it. SCS is a great place & you are going to encounter soooooooo many different works of art, creations, etc. Take 'em all with a grain of salt & a margarita - it's all good fun.
I dare you to go search the gallery for the photo of the stamped maxi pad. :mrgreen: (yes, it's true)!
ok for what its worth, I'm so glad to have stumbled upon JBS blog! I LOVE it! I nearly coughed up my ice tea *through my nose* I was laughing so hard, then I had to hurry and fumble to shut my screen down hence my boss see I'm surfing instead of working LoL (hey we all need a break)!!! Jailbirdstamper's next card will be "stamper on 'roids!". Maybe SU will make a "Diry Shanks" line. Sales could soar! Even just words - like (for a previous poster) -- Congrats on your upcoming wedding (inside the card it says) By the Way, your future husband is an a-hole. But congrats anyway. We give it six months! Even I could sell a stamp set like that!!!

Hey Lakemom!! Welcome to SCS!! I really felt badly for you... I thought people kinda toppled on you very heavily!! It takes a while to get the feel of SCS - you just made a comment that you felt was valid at the time - and as a newcomer to SCS - I think it's our job to make you feel welcome!!! Please know that you just had an isolated kind of bad experience- generally people here are very friendly and accepting!! Please stay on board and give us SCS's er a chance to let you know what friendly people we really are!!

no worries Lakemom - I guess my work gives me a jaded sense of humor.... my kids tell me all the time that I *think* I'm the funniest person out there - so I make myself laugh at least!
5 out of 6 kids think these are funny
1 daughter and dh - think they often cross the lines.... so even the family is divided! And my hubby thinks I'm the anti-christ!

The only thing I find offense is the word "shank."
My DH works in a privately owned prison. Shanks are no laughing matter to a correctional officer on the receiving end because some other CO didn't do their cell search properly....
Some of your cards I find offensive, the rest are hilariously true and funny.

Not the prison - just the county jail. The word shank was specifically chosen because my etsy store is the jailbird commissary (jail theme) and these cards are like a stab (shank) in the back.

This just goes to show you that not everyone has the same humor. With that being said Jailbirdstamper I think your cards at great. There are a few people I wouldnt mind handing those to....;) Thanks for the laugh!
