I am sad to see this happen. BUT as a customer it would have been nice to be able to put in one last order. I am so sorry for the consultants, this must be harder for them.
Just a shame to see TAC close overnight with no warnings.

I am/was a demo. Have been with TAC for 9 years (just celebrated my anniversary). Mischelle worked for months trying to save the company. She put in a gallant effort. We knew last week this was coming but, for specific reasons, were asked not to say anything. Today I blogged and emailed my customers. I have no idea what they'll do with inventory. I, too, wanted more stamps but if not, so be it. I loved TAC, Mischelle, and my fellow angels. They are/were a great inspiration to me. I feel terribly sad but respect Mischelle for this tough decision. May God bless her in her future.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA There were SO many stamps I wanted from the fall catty I just rec'd (it was the purple cover) I too wonder will they sell off like SU does as a first come first serve basis
I was an Angel up until this month, I had been with them for 13 years, Mischelle loved what she did and she genuinely cared for the demonstrators. Her message was heartbreaking and I feel awful for her and every single Angel that is impacted by this. Some of them are the most wonderful people I've ever met and they've just lost their businesses and it's a massive shock to all of them. This was NOT what Mischelle wanted for her company, or her Angels and she tried very hard to keep it from coming to this. Have some compassion for someone who has just lost their dream, their business and something that they've invested their heart and soul into for almost 15 years. It wasn't hidden most everyone in the US has been impacted by the economy, sales for EVERYTHING are down all over. If the demonstrators are making less, the company is making less and the over head for the company doesn't change, the bills pile up and sadly, a company is forced to close and a lot of people that were invested emotionally and financially are now left with nothing. Blessing out to all of the Angels and Mischelle and her family.
I don't think anyone is lacking compassion for what has happened to anyone associated with the company. Most people just don't understand why it was handled the way it was. I agree with the person who posted earlier that this put demonstrators who had customer still interesting in purchasing goods in a really awkward position. I'm sure there were sound financial reasons for the choices that were made, but on the surface, it appears that demonstrators and customers were simply "hung out to dry" in the process.

I feel so sorry for all of my Angel friends!! I was no longer with TAC but I made many friends during my time with them. I am so grateful for those friendships!! I wish all of you only the best and can't wait to see what new adventures you all have waiting before you!
I do not believe we were "hung out to dry". Mischelle was trying to finish filling orders and back orders, and trying to be sure our commission checks would be good. Once the bank got the news she would not be allowed to do any of these things.

"Hung out to dry" in the sense that customers who would have placed orders if they'd known what was going on and had a deadline for placing orders were simply out of luck.

Had they been informed then we would have been breaking confidences that Mischelle asked not to be broken. Much more damage could have happened had they been told and things got back to the bank. Angels may have been responsible then for returning money for orders out of their own pockets.

I wish the company itself - not the demonstrators - would have handled it differently. That's all I'm saying. I'm sure there's a reason it was done the way it was but those reasons left people without a last-chance opportunity to make purchases.

Had I known sooner I would have placed a final order. But they had just changed servers and program files got broken and website was shut down. Probably a good thing considering this.

I think what she was referring to was the week before the Angels were told TAC was closing, where noone at TAC answered the phones or responded to emails. That is the part that was handled poorly. It went from business as usual, to no contact, to we are closed. Nothing in between.
I do have compassion for Mischelle and I am sure she made the best possible decision she could as far as closing TAC. I just really feel it was handled very poorly.
I agree. That was handled poorly. Maybe Mischelle was feeling so badly that she just couldn't answer to phones. Or maybe so many staff was already gone that there was no one in the office. Don't know. Can't do anything about it. Just feel bad/sad.

I don't understand all the laws in KS, but from what I do understand, you cannot continue to do business once you announce that you are closing. I'm guessing that's why things were cut off abruptly. It's a sad day, indeed.

So sorry to hear this. Although I hung up my wings a couple of years ago, I loved being an Angel and I met some wonderful people through my association with TAC. Very hard for everyone involved :(

True. But...there are some of us (Angels, demos for other companies, etc) who just love to be a part of a company. So some may turn around and sign up right away with another company. Who knows? Whatever works for each individual is ok. Noone is wrong either way.

I am all for anyone signing up anywhere, seriously... I too love to be a part of it. I didn't mean that I thought it was bad in any way to sign up elsewhere, sorry if it came across that way. I just meant not to use this to start searching out possible downlines via this group, blogs, etc. like fishing in a pool. I think we all know reps from other companies and how to sign up if we want to without the unknown demos sending out invites.
I wanted the new stamps with the giant dog. It looks so much like my Newfoundland and the little girl looks like my girls. It was such a great series for me. I'll check the B/S/T
I am, er, was an Angel and my heart does go out to the company and all involved. This isn't the first company to go under in this economy and won't get the last. I has got to be so hard to put your soul into a company like this and then be forced to make such a decision. Sometimes you gotta know when to say , "Enough" and they hit this point. A number of things happened which were out of their control to make this come about in what may seem like a fast end. It was not. Michelle and all the people at headquarters did all they could possibly do to save this company. When things started popping up this past few weeks, it was a dealbreaker. They are wonderful people and truly need your prayers as fellow stampers and I hope that many of you will. this is yet another tragidy stemming from the economy we are all in. Please be kind as I know you all will.
Just one more thing. Sorry, but the Angels did receive a heads-up last weekend and then the news spread. I really think they had no choice that to make the public announcement when they did. Like someone said, as soon as the bank knows about their intentions to close, everything would be frozen and that would be that. Bad news travels fast, unfortunately, and this is probably what happened. They had hoped they had more time, but I believe the rumor mill made the decission for them. Now, I don't even know if this makes sense. LOL I am still in a bit of shock over the whole thing so am trying to explain the best I can. I hope I didn't just add mud to the growing puddle. LOL My best to you all.
I feel terribly bad for the owners..........there may be many things we do not understand that a court may require during this type of closure. I was one of the fortunate that just got a large order filled and received about 2 days before their announcement to the demos. I loved the artists they featured and hope that those images can be purchased by another company for us to enjoy......

Hugs to you. I would be stressed and upset too. The whole thing is upsetting. TAC was such a sweet company. Honestly, they were truly a sweet company. You hardly see that nowadays.
Yesterday when my DH came home from work I told him the news. He was as shocked as I was when I first read the news here. It depressed us both. He really liked the company too. We went to TAC's site and saw the message. It's all very sad and my heart goes out to everyone involved.
I hope that someday Michelle can found a new endeavor that fills her heart with joy. I hope the same for all the demo's involved.
I was an Angel too, for about 4 years. I'm both in shock yet not surprised, if that makes any sense. Like TAC said in their announcement - the economy is difficult to survive in anyway, let alone the fact that supply is much great than demand. SOOOO many competitors all vying for the same stamping dollar from consumers. They just get swallowed up. And new companies, items, stamps, and trends popping up all the time. Impossible to keep up with.
I just can't imagine what Mischelle and her family are going through right now. She and her husband both operated TAC, now they are both out of a job. And then their employees, who are all like family. And then the demos who really loved their product and stood behind them through thick and thin. So sad for everyone.
(I only left TAC because I basically quit stamping all together. I have NOTHING bad to say about them or the way they operated their business. Loved TAC while I was with them!)
And didn't they just have their annual seminar within the last couple months? Wonder if there was any talk about it then? I only got to go to seminar one time but LOVED it!

Where has someone on this thread not felt badly that TAC has closed?? This closing affected many people and not just the owner. Just because someone points that out that is not lacking compassion or being negative. We have really gone nuts with the PC stuff, folks.
