Stencil Monoprints

Ink up a stencil for a unique and colorful monoprint.
Supplies
- Stencils (the Crafter’s Workshop TCW554 Butterfly Collage used here)
- Distress Inks or Paints, or other water-soluble medium
- Watercolor paper or cardstock
- Rag or paper towel
- Water mister
- Craft mat
- Other supplies as needed to complete the card (Stamps, sequins, adhesive and cardstock used here)
Step-by-Step

Step 1
Place stencil upside down on craft mat.

Step 2
Add two, three or four colors of Distress Inks directly to the stencil.

Step 3
Mist the inked stencil liberally with water.

Step 4
Turn stencil over onto watercolor cardstock.

Step 5
Press down with rag or paper towel to allow watercolor paper to absorb inks/water and to remove excess water.

Step 6
Remove stencil and gently blot.

Step 7
Air dry or use a heat tool to dry.

Step 8
Use the finished monoprint to complete a project.
