Side Flap Trifold Card

Add an extra flap inside your card for a unique trifold design.

Supplies

  • Trimmer
  • 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Other supplies as needed to complete the project (Stampin' Up!® products used here: Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape, Very Vanilla and Mossy Meadow cardstock, Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot inks, Stitched Shapes Dies, Seriously the Best stamp set; Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, Forever Flourishing Dies, Forever Fern stamp set, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, Whisper White, Just Jade and Basic Black cardstock, Stitched Be Mine dies, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz inks)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Score cardstock as follows:

    11” side at 5 1/2”

    8 1/2” side at 4 1/4"

  2. Step 2

    Remove the upper right section.

  3. Step 3

    On the side flap section, remove 1/4" from the end and two sides down to the score line.

  4. Step 4

    Embellish the card as desired.

  5. Step 5

    Complete the project.

  6. You can design your card so the side flap opens either to the right or to the top.

I love this!! I make Mother's Day cards for my friends to give to their moms, and I always try to make them the "fanciest and prettiest cards of the year". I wish I had seen this tutorial in April. Now I have to wait 11 months to use this idea and make the cards. smile

This is a cool fold. I like that it is flexible too-either orientation or change the flap size.
