Gilded Ribbon

Embellish ribbon with foil flakes.

Supplies

  • Metallic leafing (Stampin' Up!® Gilded Leafing used here)
  • Ribbon (SU Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack used here)
  • Double-sided adhesive tape (SU Tear & Tape used here)
  • Stiff paintbrush
  • Metal stylus or pick tool
  • Other supplies as needed to complete the project (SU products used here: Art Gallery stamp set, Merry Merlot and Whisper White cardstock)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Center adhesive tape on ribbon. Press down firmly to adhere. Remove paper from adhesive.

  2. Step 2

    Cover adhesive with a layer of metallic leaf.

  3. Step 3

    Use a paintbrush to remove excess bits of leafing.

  4. Step 4

    Use a stylus or toothpick for detail cleanup.

  5. Step 5

    Use the ribbon to embellish a card or other project.

I do use gold leafing on my cards but never thought to do this so thankyou for the tip.x

Hadn't considered using the gilded leafing as an add-on to ribbon so TFS your idea.
