Hi! This altered jar was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Soft Sky, Certainly Celery and Blue Bayou.
The jar came from Target. It is a Ball 1/2 pint Contemporary Wide Mouth found in the HOUSEWARES department. They are sold in a set of 4 for $3.74.
WOW! These colors are PERFECT for the Polka Dot Hippos, so out came Hipella Hippo from Gina K. Designs' Hip Hop Accessories! I LOVE her!
Hipella Hippo enjoys a party, and so does my friend, the birthday girl. I decided to put them together for this momentous occasion... her 70th! WOW! Did I mention that I am NOT 70? heehee I love to point that out to her! (That's why she calls me "Big Bottom!" So, Big Bottom is giving the Ole' Lady a gift with a Big Bottom on it! Just to remind her that I love her!) Of course, I will fill the jar with CHOCOLATE, so she can be HIPPY too! LOL!
Hipella Hippo was stamped on designer paper twice. She was cut out and layered. I added Signo Pen highlights on her tooth, ear, nose, toe nails and eye. I used a blender pen dipped in Soft Sky re-inker to outline the image.
The balloons were stamped on card stock and designer paper. I added the highlight with marker and Signo pen. (I sponged the cardstock balloons!)
The mats were cut with a Coluzzle and then shaded with Classic Ink.
I added dots with a marker and Signo Pen.
The Hodge Podge Hardware was colored with a Sharpie. I added dots with the Signo Pen.

Hippo spots... how fun! I'm sure your friend will love this. What are you filling the jar with? Chocolate?! I didn't realize that you could color Hodgepodge with a sharpie... lots of new possibilities just opened up! TFS!
ps. Did anyone else notice that the hippo has toenails on the BACK of her feet? Why do things like this jump out at me?
