How fun! No words or letters, numbers only. This had me stumped for awhile, I've already made most of my birthday cards for the next couple of months. Then I remembered my friend's husband turns 29 in December! So, I needed to make something masculine.
I decided to use the Loads of Love truck for this card (one of my few masculine stamps) and I wanted to use blue colors with it. The matting for the large panel and image panel is brilliant blue. The large panel is bashful blue and I dabbed my sponge over the panel with bashful blue ink (it is hard to tell in the picture). I used my corner rounder on two corners of the this panel and the image panel. I saw Anne (jdmommy) do this on one of her cards and really liked the look of it. The numbers for the 29 are from a stencil I got through Club Scrap. I used my color box stylus and sponge tips to mask the numbers on the large panel in brilliant blue. I also outlined the numbers with a black pen. The truck image is stamped in black stazon and used my stencil to put 29 in the truck bed. I made an oval mask to put over the truck, to spotlight it and blend the image panel in a little more. I decided not color in the truck, I was trying to keep things monochromatic...not too sure about how it turned out. It was a little too stark with nothing, so I ran the speckled jumbo wheel over the truck in bashful blue. I wanted to add a little hardware to add to the masculine feel, so I made some tabs with eyelets and added brads to some of the corners. I stamped Happy Birthday from All Holidays on the inside of the card.
As always, thanks for looking and your comments are sincerely appreciated!
