"And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me."
~Lee Greenwood
This solemn flag picture was on the front of the bulletin of the church we visited this past Sunday. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make something with it in honor of Patriot Day. Since we were given two, I used diamond stickles on the flag of one and cut it out to mount on the other. I mounted it on several layers of cardstock and the pattern flag paper. Then I added the Patriotic embellishments and embossed sentiments.
The blue square with gold embossing says 'Land of the Free' and the red square says 'Home of the Brave.' The words were embossed in gold along with the edges, then I stamped the tiny star from Small Sayings in Versamark repeatedly around the sayings. The square mounted beneath each saying has the tiny star repeatedly embossed in gold.
