Last week six of us went to a great little Mexican restaurant in town. We arrived late, and ended up with the whole restaurant to ourselves. Little did we know that we had entered the building at closing time. The waitress happily served us anyway, and we stayed for two hours, all the while oblivious to the fact that they had gone out of their way to accomodate us. We didn't realize it until we left to go home, and saw the sign on the door with the times posted. I decided right then that a thank you card was in order (as well as a big tip)! Today's challenge was the perfect opportunity and inspired me to make this with a Levi tag. Thanks again, Beth!
Colored the main image with a combination of ink with water (just his overalls) and Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol (for the rest of the image). Main image panel is popped up.
Bg paper is my own, made with stamps and a white gel pen.
Vellum heart tag from Michael's. Carrot on the tag colored with gel pens.
Scalloped edge cut with the Shape Cutter by Fiskar's and their template. Now I've seen these scallopy edges done a lot lately, by Ashley (2009700). She's quite the artist. Go see her card here, that she actually drew the artwork for! LSC112 Birthday Bug! by 2009700 at Splitcoaststampers the inspiration.
Doodled the tiny dots along the orange edges and the small white flowers in the blue scalloped edge with white gel pen.
All stamps from High Hopes Stamps.

SO Cute! And I love the story behind it too. I always want to send thank you cards in situations like this but never do. I am so impressed!

Wow, that was really nice of the waitress and other staff to serve you like that at closing time. And what a perfect card for them. Wow, Crissy, this is CUTE! The carrot hanging on the heart, how perfect. Super coloring and detail. I like the white dots you put on the scalloped red paper. As a former waitress, I can tell you this will mean a lot to them. Very thoughtful of you.
