I am in the process of finishing this monogram as a thank you for our son's baseball coach. However, it needs something else, and the ribbons just don't do it for me--kinda girly. Any ideas on how I can refine this?

a very neat and thoughtful gift! i think this is just great and beautifully done! this would be a great idea for so many situations. i usually don't offer unsolicited suggestions, but since you said you don't like the ribbons, how about using either shoelaces or the leather laces you use in baseball gloves instead? just a thought...

Oh, I like the leather laces idea but I also thought that twill tape or twine might be more masculine. You could dye the twill so it's not such a contrast.

Do you hang it on the wall? How about twill tapes hanging down from the bottom and wooden tags with each players name hanging from the tapes? The tapes cold be different lengths and even have other fibres tied around them.
