This card is for the Teapot challenge for this week and is for Judy McGuire, Jennifer McGuire's mum-in-law.
This was a hard card for me because Jennifer has long been one of my craft mentors and muses all be it unbeknown to her.
I really wanted to do a special card and felt I was on my metal to produce something good but also typically my style, whatever that might be.
I do love backgrounds so chose a sketch that allowed for the background to feature. I used the teapot shown in the challenge to inspire me.
I used the "Oxide Ink and Baby Wipe" technique to create the background that I first saw on this years DTGD hosted by Kia. Two days later and a whole bunch of backgrounds later I finally decided that the first one I did was the one I liked the best for this card. I now have a great pile of backgrounds I can use on other cards lol.
Next I had to find a suitable greeting or quote and boy was that hard I eventually created my own greeting using the computer printing it off and using my light tablet to trace the greeting onto the card front with Copic Multi Liners.
I coloured the teapot and macaroons with H2O watercolour paints and watercolour mop brushes. Once dry I used a Jennifer technique I use all the time. I backed the teapot onto some craft foam to give it some height.
I put the card together while I was waiting for the teapot to dry buffing the front panel with a little Dorland's Wax Medium which brought the colours out even more and also the strip for the inside and put the inside panel together as well.
Finally I glued the teapot to the front and popped the two macaroons up with a couple of SU Dimensionals and added the sequins and that's it.
Hope you like it and thank you for looking.

Wonderfully comforting card with that sentiment. A lot of details went into this and it shows. It is gorgeous! Thanks for describing your process. So interesting to read! Looks like you added some of the background paper to the inside too. Gorgeous card!

I found that saying online...love it so much, as I'm a tea gal. But the best part of this beauty is the gorgeous back ground and the amazing coloring and shading on the teapot that makes it look so demensional.
