What better way to start off a long weekend than with inky fingers and inspiration overflowing? Thanks to Sabrina (Cook22) for the Ways to Use it Marbled Books and to Brenda (Benzi) Inspiration Challenge: Ballard Designs. After pursuing the Ballard website, I knew I just HAD to do a room. And if money were no object, I'd have this CHAIR. Alas, my home is filled with uber cool chairs gathered together through the years from yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales, mid-century modern shops, antique stores...but not one of them brand new. And I love it that way!
I used the Flonz stamp set called Vintage Sixties Lounge. These are only two of choices in the set. The rug (RubberMoon) was made longer by piecing in the icenter. I used a '60's style embossing folder to give it some texture.
I built my library out of the Basic Grey 'Oxford' book paper. Along the top is my collection of miniature books from Running Press. I have over 85 now that were either given to me or found at yard sales or thrifts. I figure if I ever downsize to a tiny house, I'll have my library already established. I loved Sabrina's challenge Library, Books, or Marbled Paper.
And the star of my room is my Real Lucille Ball postage stamp, a gift from Jean Jkanack. What a beautiful photograph. She's framed with a carrot top colored frame. The Purple Onion Postmark Stamp set let me add the date to it.
Please come join me in my library. Try out the chairs...I'm certain you'll find one to suit. I'll put the kettle on or pop some tops...thanks for stopping by.
Editing to add, I forgot to mention the I Love Lucy stamp hidden on the wall...it is an unmarked mounted stamp.

Certain things in life are a necessity, a cozy chair and loads of books are at the top of my list! Your library is wonderful, the retro style is perfect for Lucy.

It's the "Monica" of chairs on a card. I love the dining table set in Friends, it is what inspired my dishes in my kitchen to not match and I like it that way. Great book card from your chairs inspiration.

Brought back some memories, my friend. And I love that strip of Basic Grey you snatched from your stash. I think I still have a few precious scraps of that pad as well.

Oh Lucy (both of you), just fantastic! I'm so happy you used the stamp in such a cool way. She deserves such a place of honor. I love chairs and mismatched is my preference. And the books...I dont know about those books you have...I know, hard to believe. I'm sorry, I will educate myself. This creation is making me very happy.

That is a gorgeous chair you picked to inspire you! Wow! What a price! I would love to see your home! I imagine it pops with color! I love the room you created! I still have some of that book paper you used, I love that paper. Your rug is fabulous! All around fun card!
