I have been inspired and drawn to watercolor as a favorite medium since I had the privilege of seeing the hand painted samples of "Stamps Happen" at CHA 19 years ago!!! For the last couple of years I have been studying books, watching countless hours of video tutorials, and purchasing materials but never had the time to actually sit and paint ( sound like anyone else out there ). Finally I got to it. I have a long, long way to go, but am pleased with this first piece. Now I can't wait to do more! Technically, Inktense pencils are not watercolor, but their permanence between glazed layering is perfect for the wet in wet technique I love. The confidence gained by successful use of them is a great lead in to my professional paints. I think they are a great way for any crafter to ease into watercolor, which all professionals will tell you is the most difficult medium to learn.
Thanks for looking!

What a lovely watercolor creation, Kate. I have yet to get up the courage to try watercoloring, but it is at the top of my "one day when I have time" list. You did a professional job coloring those pretty freesias.
