Ways to Use It asks us to use an old stamp that we love. This stamp from Lovely as a Tree is still one of my favourites. I've had it for about 9 or 10 years! It was one of the first stamp sets I bought when I started stamping!
I did a watercolour wash background using Distress Stains and lots of water - the stains give a lovely pale look, typical of a winter sky on a cold day.
I heat embossed the image in sparkly embossing powder and added some glitter along the snow lines.
I used a pale blue card base that tones in nicely with the middle band of colour.

I just checked my "Lovely as a Tree" set date on the box...2001..Wow, that is how long ago I bought this set at my 1st SU party:-) Your gorgeous watercolour wash beauty makes me want to play with my set soon. I still like to use at least once for Christmas. TFS Susan and always inspiring me. Hugs...

I absolutely love this set and love what you've done with it here on this beautiful card. I don't recall when I bought this set but my set is wood mount where, if I bought it now, it wouldn't be! Your watercolor wash is gorgeous and the entire card is so beautifully, and softly, colored.
