First of all, if you live along the Texas coast, IÂ’m truly sorry for all youÂ’re going through. I grew up in Corpus Christi & lived in Houston a long time. If New Orleans is shaped like a cereal bowl, then Houston is a flat rock w/ bayous running all thru it. We lived thru many a flood there (and lots of bad hurricanes!) but nothing like this. IÂ’ve been calling all my relatives in TX to check on them. Thankfully, so far, theyÂ’re all ok. And nowÂ…a big Congrats to Chris, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a fabulous gallery & after much oohing & aahing, I chose THIS to case. I kept the layout but turned it on its side & used different images, different colors & made mine a Halloween card.
I wanted a gradient color behind the Oct 31 square, so I first colored that using Copics, then put it into my Misti & stamped it several times to get a good dark impression. I fussy cut it then popped it up a bit on a larger gradient square then onto a black square. The Spider Webs were white embossed on black & I added a couple of gradient strips down the side. The funky edge is actually the left over from a die cut border. I liked it better than the die cut so there you go. I finished by stamping just the word Halloween & added a punched spider.
Congrats again, Chris! Closeups & the inside are on my blog: The Write Stuff

What a fun, not to mention gorgeous, spidery card, Julie. I love your colors mixed with the black and your take on the lace part of my card is perfect!
I think this might have been the guy who had us mesmerized for a bit Saturday morning as he spun an especially detailed web outside our window.

SUPER Halloween card...vibrant colors...love the gradient 31st sentiment...beautiful Copic shading! Love the crispness of the white frosty spider webs on black and the black border peeking out. I love Halloween cards and this one is delightful!
