Made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday sketch challenge #343: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ with the optional theme of "leaves".
I wanted to include some interesting card making techniques for this week's challenge. I knew that since the optional theme was "leaves" that "Crinkled Cardstock" was a perfect technique to highlight the leaves. It's a simple technique that you simply stamp and cut out your image on cardstock, then wrinkle, bend, and fold it to break the paper fibers to give the image a soft and crinkled look (just like fallen leaves!).
The second technique is "Ink Spritzer Background" to incorporate the main and complementary ink colors of your card into a background panel. For details on how to do this, please visit Splitcoaststampers tutorial at: Ink Spritzer Background Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers I modified this technique by closing the acetate folder to spread the colors, then opening it back up and then inserting my two card pieces into the folder. This left less white space on the panel. Afterwards, I still wanted more color, so spritzed the Copper shimmer mist directly to the panel to further fill in white areas.
I also spritzed the crinkled leaves with the Copper shimmer mist to give them shine. I also spritzed the Very Vanilla sentiment panel before stamping the "Thinking of You" sentiment with Early Espresso ink. This panel was edged with a stamping sponge using Hello Honey ink. The panel was then mounted on an Old Olive mat using Adhesive Foam Strips.
The tiny acorn is from the SU Fantastic Foliage that is stamped with Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake cardstock. The acorn cap was colored with a Yoyo Yellow Stampin' Write Marker, then fussy cut before mounting using a small piece of Adhesive Foam Strip.
