I was inspired by the style and colors of these images.
Except for the poppy die, this is a one layer card. I started by sponging my card front in warm red/orange/ yellow inks, then laid my hypnotic stencil down in the upper left corner and sponged some more. Stamped the sentiment so I would know where else I could stamp, and then stamped randomly with the Mixed Media grunge stamps- keeping in mind approximately where I would put the poppy. Sponged some more, splattered diluted white acrylic paint as well as some of the other sponged colors, then sponged around the edges with black soot for some definition. Added the die cut poppy and done!

Oh, wow, Maura! What a creative and beautiful card, and a wonderful representation of your inspiration piece! I love the gradation of the beautiful and warm colors, stenciling, grunge stamped images, and lovely words of encouragement! This card is so like a Tim Holtz creation, and I love it! You are such a wonderful artist, my friend!!
Bold and so dramatic, Maura ... the warm colour palette is fabulous with the black silhouettes! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Anita
