I started by scoring the seashell--I guess it could be called freehand scoring since you have to move it and keep the angle lined up on one end. I found it easier to start in a corner and keep the corner in the groove of the scoring tool as I moved the paper.
Coloring began with watercolor pencils, but I am much more comfortable with sponging, so I fell back on sponging to finish it off.
Finally, I coated the whole thing with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder to give my shell some shine, though I left one shell uncoated, so it would have the flat white look of some seashells. I wanted it to look like an angel-wing shell.
The inspiration for the finished ATC was my bathroom (thus the seashell props). We moved from Florida to Texas and my master bath has been my little trip to the beach whenever I need one. Breathe deeply..."Breathe in the freshness of the sea. Breathe out the cares of the day."

How lovely that you have your own little beach escape even though you've no longer git it on your doorstep. I bet the combination of shiny and matt shells looks great in real life. Great sentiment and perfect weathered wood background.
