Barbara is our hostess this week and she has chosen: hello honey, tempting turquoise, and rich razzleberry and for dessert: a die cut element. I used zig markers for my card and chose the best color matches that I could. Because I was using a watercolor technique, some of the colors mixed together and made new colors - not my intention, but I liked the end result. No dessert for me this week. I just couldn't make it work with the busy bg.
I used the faux watercolor technique where I colored directly to the bg stamp (positioned in the MISTI) with the zig watercolor markers (chosen to match our colors as closely as I could), spritzed with water and then stamped. I did about a third of the bg at one time and would make sure to dry off any part of the stamp that I was not inking at that time. Splattered some diluted black ink to add to the watercolor look. Embossed the sentiment on a piece of black cs and adhered. Popped up this panel with dimensionals to the card front and added sequins for some bling.

I was just thrilled to see your gorgeous card in the gallery today Maura. We are bracing for a winter storm and 9" of snow so seeing these colorful water colored butterflies did wonders for me! The colors you achieved are gorgeous and I love the splatters you added and sparkle from the sequins too! Hugs! ~Karen.
