Barbara is our hostess this week and she has chosen: cherry cobbler, mossy meadow, pool party, and for dessert: snow. I used the Su! colors as well as zig markers to match as closely as I could because I was doing a faux watercolor technique.
I used the technique that Jill Foster demonstrates on the Penny Black blog for my "Berry Kissed" image; Basically, it involves stamping with the MISTI multiple times, adding ink and spritzing with water before stamping (some of the times) for the watercolor look. Then, without moving the stamp, you stamp again with versamark and clear embossing powder, and heat set. This preserves the watercolor image and allows you to sponge the bg. After sponging the bg with Pool Party, I splattered with diluted acrylic white paint (for a snowy look) and some cherry cobbler. Matted in black before attaching to card front.

Oh, Maura! This is GORGEOUS! You've outdone yourself (which is hard to do), and I LOVE this card! You've mastered the technique Jill uses so beautifully, and your colors are amazing! I love the beautiful sentiment too (great font). Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Oh my, Maura!! Another outstanding card!! My goodness, your art is awesome, Maura! I love the gorgeous background and the image on this card! Fantastic art, as usual, my friend!!
This is lovely. I do like the soft sponging of the sky against the texturized look of the watercolor stamped image. Really nice and it sounds like quite a process to create! TFS!
