I made this watercolor card for week 3 of the alphabet challenge to use the letter W in a card. I used several colors of yellows and pinks to add depth and dimension to these blooms, and I paint one petal at a time. I add water to the petal before I add the color to it so it is a bit of a wet-on-wet technique that works best for me because I am still new to water coloring. Then I did a very light wash of tumbled glass for the background. Once this was all dry, then I stamped the sentiment. In real life, these flowers are supposed to be orange, but my mother prefers pink so I made them pink for her.

Oh, Karen, how beautiful! Your watercoloring is perfect, and what beautiful colors! I love the blue wash around the daffodils to bring them forward. And what a perfect black frame - it's so striking! Your mom will LOVE it! Gorgeous card, sweet friend! Hugs!
