This is for Tom, who has been in the hospital for a long time and needs some cheer. He loves plants and animals and ships so join us and lets help him feel better.
It is funny how sometimes one will spend a log time on a card and it ends up in the end being simple which if one could have figured that out in the first place would save one LOTS of time...lol...silly me.
All I kjnew for sure is I wanted to keep these little guys the focal point and tried different colors and ways to frme them and then thought of that camera thing you can do I forget the name but softer and darker along the edges to leave the center stand out, so I did that with sponging this sweet and peaceful scene with night of nave and being I had no blue paper to match after looking for like ever had a thought of sponging the other base layer with night of navy too to match, and just tiny black frames to layer. Like how it turned out. Then just added a bit of silhouetted black punched leaves and a couple of berries sponged kind of the little birds chests to bring that out. I know it did not turn out bright and cheery so hope not too dark and drab, but it has a nice soft peaceful feel. I too LOVE sitting and watching little birds nearby...Have a great day...Off to see the awesome gallery....HUGS

I think that sponging thing you did in photography terms is called vignette and you did a wonderful job of really highlighting these little birds! I don't think its too dark. I love the deep rich blue!

Ah, I wondered if that was LOTV because those are proper European robins and not your North American ones ;-). But then, I always loved seeing Christmas cards from relatives in Canada which had cardinals, so exotic to us over here. This is beautiful, Wanda.

Oh, Wanda, this is really sweet and so precious with these birds! Tom is going to really love this. It has such sweetness and warmth about it, and I love how you've sponged it to recess it! Fabulous! Hugs!
