For Lisa's WTUI challenge this week ~WT548 Coffee or Tea, which do you drink? . I drink both pretty equally; we start the day with coffee, and unless DH is late home, we have some when he gets home from work. We have tea after dinner, sometimes I have it with my lunch. When I was growing up, the first sounds of the morning were the coffee grinder, and then the gurgle of the coffee pot on the stove. Our standard childhood picnic was link sausages cooked on a camping stove and sandwiched with buttered white bread... followed by coffee for the the grown-ups also made on the camping stove.
It's also for Lois's challenge to the CCEE Stampers. This week she has asked us to share a technique. I chose the bandanna technique - here's a link to the TLC where I first learned it; it's a technique I still use at least a couple of times a year.
Normally I stamp a background with smaller stamps, this time I stamped a big paisley backgrounder onto some DP and then did my stuff with a white gel pen.
Chalkboard and cafe-style seemed to work together well! Here's a link to an old blog post I have with a fun chalkboard outside a restaurant near work (last two photos in post). I used the coffee cup from Pun Fun and handwrote the sentiment - chalkboard was perfect for that too! I made a faux wood background for it, with a brad in each corner and a black flourish. Finished the card off with a black die-cut border at the top and bottom.

I love your combo of the chalkboard and bandana techniques. I agree with Lois..it does looks like something on the wall of a coffee shop. Cute! By the way...staying with the theme, I have to mention a great tea shop I visited in Dublin...Queen of Tarts..we had a lovely treat (I had a lemon tart) there with a fabulous pot of tea. And I bought one of their little mugs to take home with me...sweet memories.

Anything made over a campfire is always better! I love that bandana technique. Haven't used it for a while. Just had a thought for it though. I love the little restaurant chalkboard look to this. Super fun card!

I have heard something new! Bandana technique! I will have to look into that. Regardless, this is a great card. Love the red and black. The sentiment reminds me of a special written on a blackboard in a cafe.
Ok, I just read the rest of your description! That is exactly what this is! Thanks Sabrina!
