Sometimes less is more... that is a popular saying that I rarely follow. I seem to follow the " everything but the kitchen sink" school of design. This is the origional stenciled image that morphed into a different card yesterday. The stencil is 6x6 and once I colored it, I did not know how to use it on a card. I ended up making a color print at 75% size which I turned into a different card. When I woke up this morning I was in a rare minimalist mood and just trimmed the image a little and stuck it on a card - no ribbon, dp, or bling. The image was made by lightly sponging distress inks on the cardstock. Then I taped the stencil down and added several layers of distress ink to get more intense colors. I sponged a little black ink to add depth. Before removing the stencil I splattered water on it. Once I removed the stencil I added shadows to the trees with grey copics.

This is SO not a 'plain' card!! I love how you got your colors more intense and added the shading on your birches! Awesome color!

This is gorgeous! I like your simple matting - I always feel that if you have a beautiful image, you don't want to distract from it with lots of other distractions. Into my favorites...
