I've just finished this origami gift box. Instead of the gift card, it holds chocolates. Yum... maybe just as good as a gift card?
I was recently taught how to make these little boxes, you should have heard the grumbling coming from me. Now they are second nature.
We have looked on line for written instructions to no avail. As you can see, the star is on the inside of the bottom piece. I was taught to do it the other way, like the top. Being the backwards person that I am, I just changed a couple of steps to get the star on the inside. I was also taught to do the star right handed, but figured out how to do it left handed. Look at the two stars, one is a lefty, the other a righty.
A double sided dp is best, and one that isn't too heavy. G45 works nicely, as does this one from Reminisce. The dp's from SU! work nicely, too. As long as your squares are all the same size, you can make one of these boxes.
Now I may have the challenge police after me, since this isn't one of the tutorials listed on the challenge. I'll just sweeten them up with this box of chocolates! Come get me!
As to the difficulty and my giving it a 3, that number goes down once you have it all figured out.
