Whew I finally made it to the Teaparty. This week we are going to Levittown Pennsylvania to send our warmest wishes to Amy and her family. Our very own Irishgreensue (Sue) has shared Amy's story with us and Sheri has given us a fun story so we can send some smiles to Phillie.
I googled Pennsylvania to see if I could come up with some ideas, did you know that The Sundance Kid, Louisa May Alcott (I still can't believe she bumped Beth off in Little Women) and Pink, all come from Pennsylvania. I kept reading and I discovered that Pennsylvania is one of 27 completely landlocked states in the U.S. mainland. Light bulb moment.....indoor beach, and so the card making began.
The rules at The Phillie Flyers Indoor Beach and Recreation Centre are quite strict.....no drinking cocktails in the hot tub. Shirley and Sharon have settled themselves against the back wall for happy hour, whilst Louisa, May, Sunny and Peaches have a laugh in the tub. Grace is dangling here legs in the water as she finishes her martini, made from Bluecoat American Dry Gin.. duh.
When I coloured Grace I used a micron pen to give her hairy legs, unfortunately when I took the first photo it looked like the area surrounding her downstairs lady bits was out of control. I tried 'trimming' the offending area with a white sharpie paint pen.....it looked worse, now it looked like she had grey hair escaping from her swimsuit. I had no choice but to remove Grace from the scene, cut her legs off and pop her in the waves.
The brickwall was made with black acrylic paint and a stencil on a gelli plate - ghost print (secondary print).
I didn't want to be too late getting this card off to Amy so the yellow/orange background is from my dylusions ink stash and the waves were hand cut from an off cut from a previous project. Good thing I never throw scraps out LOL. I added Wink of Stella blue to the waves at the bottom.
Thank you for looking and have a terrific week everyone.
Edit: I just realised I didn't mention the lady sitting behind the hot tub. I think she is Gertie, a descendent of Gertrude Hawk (famous chocolatier from Pennsylvania).

Oh Susie!!!!!!! If anyone has a sad day, all they need to do is go to your gallery, click a photo, scroll back and forth between card and description and they WILL start feeling better. I chuckled at poor Grace and all the fun PA details!
