Hello dear friends! Thank you for those who have been asking. I have been doing pretty good! Two of my best girlfriends each came to visit for a bout a week, one in May and the other in June and that sure did lift my spirits!
I have not been making many cards....and when I made this one I got completely confused! I ended up combining this week's teaparty with last week's teaparty! Sheesh! LOL But I wrote on the inside for it to go to Susan. Maybe I can make another card for this week.
The song Downeaster Alexa is about the fishermen in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Downeaster is the style of lobster fishing boat and in the song, is named for his real daughter, Alexa. If you listen to the song, it sounds like sea gulls in the background! Anyway, I added some words of encouragement and will get this in the mail tomorrow.
The technique for the background is adding the ink pads to the acrylic block then misting with water (or in my case alcohol) and pressing the paper onto the ink. I just can't think of the name of the technique! LOL I am sure many of you know right off the top of your pretty heads! Hope you are doing well and thank you for checking out my card!

Oh how wonderful to see you making a card and posting it, Kathleen! And a beauty it is, too! I love the way you have made the bg water, those seashells are wonderfully realistic, a real beauty, just like you! Though you have been away from the SCS gallery, you have not been forgotten!

Kathleen, SO good to see you here! I don't know how I missed this one but glad you were favorited so I could find it since gallery time was limited! It's a creative masterpiece and love the background and your fussy cut shells as well as the neutral framing! You are on our minds!

Hi Kathleen, so good to hear you had some friends to visit and got to do a little cardmaking as well!
I just did a little of this same technique with the block, but I must say that yours came out SO much better! Love the sea and sky coloring and the spray make for some interesting "smooshing" LOL The seashells are colored to perfection and I can practically hear the gull as he swoops across the water!!
I will continue to pray that you are feeling well and stronger each day! Hugs!
