This card is for a friend who has been dealing with some recent personal unhappiness and I haven't been able to see her in a while. I'm giving her this little guy with a small message that she is on my mind and I'm wishing her well.
This is the second card that I've colored in a while. I haven't used my Tombow markers in ages and I am very pleased that they are still working. I'm think I may try and get back to my card making roots. I used to only stamp and color in the beginning and somehow I got away from it. I rather miss it so I think I will be making a serious effort to get back into it. I was thinking about Copics because I love the rich dark results you can achieve but the expense! Whooaa, buddy! They aren't cheap!
My newest love spot is for enamel dots. Gosh, I think they are the cutest. If I go back to making more whimsical cards, you're going to see a lot of enamel dots.
I also will try more embossing. I embossed the greeting on this card. I really wasn't crazy about the whole process because I thought it was messy and too time consuming for the results which wasn't always that great. HOWEVER...I did a little researching and figured out that maybe the problem was the heat gun I was using. Well, I found and purchased another heat gun, one that isn't typically used for crafting and I LOVE IT! Heats up fast, melts the embossing powder in the blink of an eye which also decreases the paper warping factor. No fuss, no muss. And it only cost $23.00. Yea!
And lastly, my handmade envelope. I needed to find a consistent way to make envelopes of various sizes. I ended up purchasing the We R Memory Keepers envelope maker and love it. Especially when I add a liner. So pretty. Since this card will be hand delivered, I've added a little Velcro dot instead of adhesive.
Ok, that's about it. Hope you have a great holiday, if you are not working and hope you like the card. Take care!
